Racism common in London?

Post by DragonInstall »

I was just youtube jumping everywhere and found this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85GTTVLpCDY

Then I noticed a lot of videos show up with a similar theme. Mainly racism in subways in London by women lol.

So that's what a female BNP supporter looks like. I was expecting beady rat eyes or a face like Nick Griffin.

Why do you think The Colonies revolted in the first place? Annoying cunts like that.

We should start a new colony just for people like that. On the surface of the sun.

Although saying that, those who can afford it move to Spanish resort towns and end up looking like they live on the surface of the sun anyway.

Spain is already crawling with those dregs of society, so it's as if they never left home 8)

Doesn't surprise me one bit - I'm not exactly fond of foriegners either but that's looney.

Both this and the reverse is actually quite commonplace in Australia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WiO5j89hwU

I'm only not fond of foreigners who come to your country and decide they're going to live here with the same culture they had in their homeland. I'm not talking about things like music or cuisine, but cultural tenants run counter to the culture they've moved to. Like continuing to abuse one's spouse in a land where that is not acceptable, or driving like you're in the middle of the desert when you're in a city.

Not explicitly. Could be Arab, could be Indian, could be African, could be French. It doesn't really matter where you're from or what you believe, but your culture is always secondary to the culture of the place you're moving to. Just because something is fine in you're home country doesn't mean it is here (see: Roman Polanski) and we should not be tolerant of this. If your culture is different, fine, live it up, but if it's out right contrary, then it's a different story.

Studies show that the average user of public transport in London will witness or be involved in incidents of racially motivated verbal abuse in 8.2 out of 10 journeys, racially motivated violence in 3.7 out of 10 journeys, and racially motivated homicide in 0.8 out of 10 journeys.

How often will the average user be the instigator of such incidents?

Thank god the typical Londoners will bury themselves in their newspapers while taking the tube so they won't have to notice such gruesome incidents. Though even outside of public transport, the average Londoner will only make eye contact with a stranger 3.4 times a year.

Didn't realize it's that bad in London. What ever happen to the gentlemen and proper lady etiquette.

I gotta say they are pretty bold though... you could get really hurt if you act like that to a stranger.

I had an Egyptian cabbie once, while in Maryland. He said that people thought he was Russian(he was REALLY light, and his accent was impossible to pinpoint). Anyway, he was racist as hell. Kept dropping the "N" bomb. I thought that was really odd. Since my best friend is black, I didn't really care much for it. It was more surprising, than anything though.

Another time(while in Maryland again), I had a Pakistani cabbie. And he went on and on about how the Jews were ruling the world through technology, and how they are the enemy of Muslims and Christians both. Then he gave me some reading material about this site where Christians convert to Islam.
Thing is, how the fuck did this joker know I wasn't Jewish? I mean, does he have some kind of Jew-dar or something?
I'm not, I'm Spanish...but I have been told I look like an "Arabic-Jew"(lol) before.

I also had a cabbie(this one from Ethiopia), and he was really really nice. He was a Christian, and seemed not to be hostile. But, he started talking about how he didn't like how Obama supported gays. I just don't understand why people say these things. I could be gay, for all he knows. I guess it's like the reverse of Taxi-cab confessions, and the cabbies all open up their deepest secrets. lol

Anyway, lots of racism/homophobia coming from people all over the place.

I don't have major problems with immigrants, since my dad was one... But I'm not a fan of illegals(just due to the fact that they're illegal).
I have problems with certain people, but I wouldn't go about spewing it on public transportation.

Racism is just a part of life. People will always see something wrong with groups different then there own. Hell in India they'll hate you just for being from a different region, let alone religion. Jingoism is still widely accepted in the bulk of the west and outside of the west sexism, racism, etc. are anything from passively accepted to state law.

Asians can't help it. It's true.

While this is great in theory, in practice, it doesn't always work. Come over to Japan for a week. I'm no revolutionary and I don't try to convert anyone, but some things are just fucking stupid, for the sake of "tradition". In the history of man, the dumbest sake ever.

I had a Brummie cab driver drop me off to the airport the other day. Talked a lot about his adventures "muff diving" ("moof dahvin' ") in Thailand. I think he actually liked Asian people!

Oh I don't dispute that there are a lot of things in Japan that are fucking stupid to my eyes, but it's up to the Japanese to change it, not the foreigners who think they know better. Shit is the way it is because of thousands of years of history and no one is interested in listening to the new people who've shown up. A foreigner telling someone how to run their country should be seen in the same way as a bible thumper on your doorstep.

That doesn't mean I'm not going to be verbal about how retarded something is. If I know somebody that eats whale and clubs dolphins, I'm going to tell them they're a fucking idiot. It has no bearing whether I live there or not.

Also not true. Japan's economy has been in shambles for 20 years, and they're not doing anything to help themselves. This has earned them a special place in being criticized by foreign residents and non-residents alike.

On a slightly different topic, since you live in Japan I want to ask you a question.

Recently there have been some dispute over a small island near S. Korea about who owns it. Why is the Japanese government bringing those up now after S. Korea have been occupying them for 60+ years? Even 100 year old Japanese maps don't have those islands listed as part of their territory.

I'm assuming it's because Japanese don't have good natural resources and that island has some? Seems really pointless because it's obvious the Korean government isn't going to just go, "Here you go, even though we colonized this for 60 years and your maps don't even label as part of your territory."

I'm just interested what Japanese news / government are stating as why it belongs to them. It just blows my mind on how they could make a claim like that with a serious face. Even the S. Korean government thinks it's weird to even claim such a thing.

Ugh why make ties between those two countries worse for no substantial reason.

Actually Japan seems to be claiming a lot of islands as theres. Whats up with them? A Russian island and a Chinese island.

Argentina, spain - same s*** 8)

Spain needs to give back all the gold and pay for the raw goods they pillaged from the Americas. If they had to do that, they'd be nothing more than another third-world Mexican state in Europe. Hahaha.
