A sobering, very well-researched read. I know there's a lot of interest in Japan generally here, so I thought I'd share.
I've been to the memorial and museum in Hiroshima twice. It was the first place I really wanted to see in Japan. I was obsessed with nuclear weapons when I was younger, and especially with post-apocalyptic scenarios. I used to organize a little yearly film festival in San Francisco on the subject. As I've gotten older and studied history more, I still have a great interest in such things, but the sheen of kitsch and romanticized new frontiers has been replaced by a growing, actual knowledge about history.
