Please ban st_p from here

Post by Domino »

He is spreading this crap thru the Shmups PM system. I just got the following PM:
st_p wrote:Warning!!! Nazi pedophile and internet predators on Gaming forums

EvilevoIX (Matt J. McMahon of Bricktown, New Jersey) is a Nazi internet predator involved in pedophile ring that call themselves "Rocky Dennis Shooting Team", a well funded and organized circle of sexual internet predators using http://www.neo-geo.com/forums as their front where they sell arcade boards, carts, consoles, games and gaming accessories so to gain contact and personally meet with the kids coming there for the games just to end up being invited to their "game parties", sexually and financially exploited, or recruited in Nazi squads.

This EvilevoIX aka Supernaut character is openly spreading Nazi propaganda and says things like this: - "Right it had nothing to do with the United States, what was I thinking. Nothing to do with our bases set up all over the world, just site seeing I guess. I suppose both my Grandfathers who faught in the war were just wasting their time, and all the stories they told me were just lies. I guess that Nazi flag I have with blood on it was fake as well."

I'm working on collecting better evidence and report all this to FBI for further investigation. In the meantime, be aware and talk to your kids. If you know someone working for the police, or whatever other law agency, you may point this to them. See here about similar busted cases: http://cultbustersgalactica.yuku.com/topic/850

So yeah, forwarding this to the mods and also see if anyone here got the same PM here?

Yup , he tried the same on NG forums , got locked as most Trolls in the War room where he kept going, then members started reporting him to Android Market Developer Program Policies on Android.com for copyright infringements on his app and whatever , in anger he threatened to take the whole site down with skilled hackzor spells so he finally was banned .

He is on a worldwide crusade against NG now

He's not only a troll, but seems clinically insane to boot. He has his own forum where he creates a way too many fake accounts and has "conversations" with himself. :( He's been banned a lot from BYOAC where he pops back every couple weeks, always accusing someone else of something, like being a troll, a pirate scumbag etc. If people here start getting Password request e-mails from shmups.system11.org, don't respond as it's likely a hacking attempt.

 is this the same guy who created http://bladesawbabe.proboards.com/, the internet's premier fansite for Shadow Dancer's third boss? Seems about as deranged.

I know some of the other forums I read have a rule set up where a user is not allowed to send PMs until they have at least 15 posts. I wonder if something like that might be helpful here to prevent this?

The staff has brought this possibility up, but the general consensus has been that such a policy would be a thorn in the side of those who mostly check up for news, engineer trades, etc. without posting much; offhand I'm not even sure if such a setting is an option, as mods don't handle the technical side of things.

In any event, I'm letting the admins know that this guy is back, in case they're not already aware.

Single user PMs should be allowed regardless; mass PMs could be blocked like this though.

Sadly, the forum software as it is doesn't have the option for such an elaborate rule as "only people with over n posts can send a PM to multiple recipients". Maybe there's a mod that could bring such functionality, but to address the issue now I have disabled the option for sending mass PMs. Just one recipient at a time, at least for the time being. Hopefully this won't be problematic to anyone.

However, with STGT fast approaching it might be more convenient to have team discussions over PMs, so if things look good we'll restore normal functionality by then.

On taking a second look, the other forums I read with that restriction are running VBulletin rather than PHPBB, so it may be a matter of different functionality in different systems.

I thought it was already illegal to send PMs here unless you already had one post?

I got the message myself too. Bit irritable. Couldn't make any sense of it.

I recognize evilevoix from Sega 16 forums, he doesn't seem like a bad guy, perhaps he pissed a troll off and they snipped a picture of one of his Sega 16 posts.

It's just a bunch of different usernames doing the same thing. You ban them, they just simply recreate a new username. Captcha just dont work on them either.

I have deleted the accounts that have been sending spam PMs, but the IPs are all over the place so there's not an effective block we can use.

We're probably/hopefully going to update to a newer version of phpbb that has the necessary "x posts required to send PMs"-function that would deal with this. Stay tuned.
