At the risk of sounding like a white knight, this is fucking creepy and stalkerish. Please close it or at least delete the pictures, Skykid. I doubt she gave you permission to put those here.

It's precisely this unnecessary level of special attention that prevents more women from getting into gaming (aside from the GAM3R GURL attention whores like Felicia Day who capitalize on it).

I know a girl who enjoy playing videogames (she had a lot of fun playing Mortal Kombat when she came over) and is a massive anime/manga nerd. Also does a lot of cosplaying, and she's very pretty to boot.

Unfortunately she's very shy and incredibly difficult to talk to. I was interested in her and tried quite a lot to talk to her and get her to open up, but I wasn't successful. After numerous attempts and realizing how much of a chore it was to talk to her, I gave up.

It was probably for the best. If I had met her like 10 years ago when I was heavily into anime/manga, we'd have a lot in common. But nowadays I've grown out of those things and we really don't match anymore.

Kool, good for you, man. Not really sure the GF would appreciate being featured on the intarwebs boards where the majority of members are ronery guys tho. Also, you've been dating for 9 years? Wow. You must be one awesome dude if she hasn't broke up with you due to lack of interest in marriage :P.

I know some girls who game but they usually get addicted to the casual stuff and are usually closet gamers. There was this chick, tho, that was addicted to Diablo 2 like it was crack. I went to her house once and all the time I was there she was killing cows :|. Haven't seen in her in a long time now.

would laugh again.

I've only met GURL GAMERS in my life so it's kinda sad... The only woman I've known who played heavily and hardcore style was... my mother when she was young (20-24)

Yeah, she was like a pro on fighting games, specially Mortal Kombat on the SNES. She had enough power level to clear Contra 3 with no continues. :)

I don't know, maybe this one could work better as a simple "relationships and all that good stuff" kind of topic? No need to rule out possible non-gaming girlfriends (or boyfriends for that matter).

If we had woman in our collective you wouldn't even need to make this thread

I'm sure you love your girlfriend and just by making this post you show how proud are you of her and for being her boyfriend

But, this comunity has, generally speaking, poor contact with other women, specially since most of us are on the orbit of Neptune while most of the "normal" guys are on Mars or Jupiter (in terms of hobbies and preferences).

Besides, GamenGirls are kind of irrelevant in the videogame escene, even more on the shmup escene.

It seemed like a good idea at the time until it dawned on everyone who the primary audience for shoot-'em-ups is.

I think a more general "girls I'd like to... MMMPH!" thred could still come out of this 8)

I'm still wanting to know a girl with an open mind and interested on culture and videogames that doesn't look like a gipsy.

If she cares about her appearance she is intellectually boring... and when she's intelligent and curious about politics and culture most of the times she is either or looks like a hippy, a punk or doesn't care about her looks

I know what you mean, but there are some female shmuppers present on this forum. I may even have some pics of one in particular blowing up Deathsmiles, but she'd probably kick my ass if I posted them.

I think it's been done before actually, you can dig it out and bump it if you want but it's ooooollllllddd. Most people will probably be looking at their exes.

U mad Estebang? Can't post any pictures without permission, that's fatal. She wasn't too fussed about an indistinct side profile covered by hair and a behind the head image of a gal playing vidyagames. If you look elsewhere on the internet, you may find more revealing and potentially 'creepy' images of the opposite sex:

Then, why all the secretism? I mean, this is a forum of shmupers, we like shmups and they are welcome just for that... It's not like we are a hoard of hungry wolves ready to stalk then once we know a llittle about then

I for once, would like to know some REAL shmuper women, not your ussual Touhou cosplayer that can't beat the game on easy... that's the only example that comes to my mind.

She's an awesome lady and eats the high scores of most on this forum (the world!) for breakfast. She also aggravates Illyrian on Street Fighter (I manage that too) - but she's not my girlfriend and therefore I don't have a right to publish her pics. Also, any secretiveness is her choice tbh. I may already have said too much... Image

I was hoping RupertH, Spadgy and Dan76 were going to contribute to this thread before it turned into a Lonely Hearts page.

Maaan, I dunno... The only girl that has set my flame ablaze was 5 years ago and I still played videogames regularly... I Think I'll play then (with less intensity) until I die even if I manage to find a girl I could really love...

Yeah, I assumed that was the case. Still, I think it would be more interesting just to hear people's experiences with relationships vs gaming in general (Ruldra's post being a good example).
