Playing PSOne imports on a modded PAL PS2

Post by Signius Layzar »

Hi all,

Hopefully someone can help me with this! :)

About a year ago I bought a modded PAL PS2 off a friend of a friend. He wasn't sure what type of mod was inside it but it played Xenosaga so I assumed it was good and bought it.

Only problem I've had with it is I have no idea how to get PSOne games to run on it - he says he's done it but can't remember how (really helpful person eh).

So I'm hoping that some people here can give me some methods to try in booting my Jp PSOne originals - I would love to play my copy of Einhander and Donpachi! :*(

Thanks in advance.

My modchip requires me to hold the Reset button down for a moment, just long enough for the light in the Eject button to turn on, for the system to go into PS1-mode. Hopefully it's the same trick.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Cheers mate, I gave it several goes using your method - no dice unfortunately.

I also tried using the way I boot my PS2 games (tap reset once, then again when the blue light comes on). It goes to a black screen then after a while it says 'Insert disk' in a white font.

Why can't everything be as easy as the DC...
