Xbox 360 Repairs - Reballing?

Post by shmuppyLove »

So I've got a 360 that had more lives than a cat, but it's finally kicked it for good this time. 3RLOD with 0110 secondary error (apparently a GPU/RAM problem).

Anyone here had a 360 die on them and got the GPU reballed? Seems the going rate is $50-60 and there's lots of places in Toronto that do repairs, if anyone local has a recommendation it would also be welcome.

Here's the place I'm thinking of:

And please no "Just buy a new one" advice, if I could do that obviously I would. Besides, this one was free so I don't mind paying a bit to repair it.

i had my xbox reballed twice. it's one of those really bad xenon types, but it's jtagged so i really can't argue with that.

what's funny it was reballed once before i bought it and the guy actually put an additional fan above the gpu radiator and it still died on me a second time.

right now after the second reball it's doing fine for more than half a year. but i think that when it will die this time it will die for good.

cool that they give you 3 months warranty for the repair. i would do it, then stress test it with some heavy gpu game for a day. if it doesn't die immediately
i would say you have half a year for sure. even if you play casually that's a good investment.
