Aleste - Disk Station MSX #1 Arrange Version

Post by Op Intensify »

I was looking at this blog full of posts about great old obscure Japanese computer stuff, and the newest post mentions an extremely difficult arrange version of the original Aleste, which was only ever released on a MSX pack-in disk from Disk Station Magazine. Is this widely known among the English-speaking community? It would be neat if I stumbled upon something new here.

I'd like if someone who can track down a disk image could go into further detail about what's different in the version. At the moment I'm clueless as to MSX emulation.

(Also, why on Earth isn't there a thread here about Life Fortress Volcabamba?? Do I really have to make one myself?)

A super hard arrange version of a Compile game? Holy shit, thread watched. First I've heard of this.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Yeah, I've seen a crap-ton of those Disk Station mags on YAJ and I was always curious if any of those pack-in games were worth playing.
