That last zinger post wasn't posted by me at all.

Someone somehow managed to use my account (see the server owner IRC chat log below). Why he did that I have no idea, all he did was post a PNG?

I'm a bit disappointed that the thread was locked since I was serious about the topic and I'm very thankful for a some of the response I got. I particularily wanted to answer BIL's, Randorama's and DMC's posts.

I have to say I'm a bit freaked out over account rape, and since the thread was locked before I got the chance to respond I'm a bit discouraged to bring it up again (which, considering some of the other response I got, I'm sure might please a few around here, though).

I just wanted to clear that up.

Yes, the old Insomnia site. Which was hacked by a bunch of icycalm fanatics who are flooding the shmups IRC channel as I'm typing this. So yeah, it's pretty obvious that they're behind stealing my account.

If you want to start a discussion about playing for score, the merits of it, why some people find it interesting and others don't, how it can affect your enjoyment of a game, etc. go for it. But if it boils down to "Well icy says this and icy says that" then the outcome will be no different. It'll probably only get locked faster this time. It's a discussion that could easily be had without ever mentioning his name at all.

Basically, use your own voice, don't try to ram down the opinions of someone else down our throat, and remember that other people's opinions and points of view are just as valid.

A common misconception, but not all opinions are equal. Unfounded opinions are not the same as well-founded ones. Simple proof: If it is someone's opinion that the earth is flat, then they are objectively wrong. If your point of view is that people with dark skin are inferior to people with light skin, than your point of view is invalid.

I hacked icycalm's forum with one partner who has chosen to wash his hands of involvement. I do have your old password, but I wouldn't have wasted it on posting a single image (albeit a rather revealing one, incidentally). It seems the ends have justified the means here (since you're disincentivized to posting more shit on icycalm's behest), so kudos to whomever did it.

Oh, and everything Insomnia-related has been public information for some time now, so if you've ever had any involvement with the site or Zirbas I highly recommend changing your passwords.
