from reaching most of the big sites that make torrents available.
On the positive side my internet speed more than doubled overnight as a result. Wonder if its a coincidence?
Although I sort of agree that this action should be taken, I wonder if it will be abused. This is the first news I've heard of this in the UK.

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

You can easily get around it by going to the site over https or an alternate port (8080 might work on some of them, dunno). I heard about this happening a few days ago, and it seems that the ISPs are just doing as minimal work as necessary to comply with the ruling.
I do have to wonder if this ruling will lead to abuse later on though; I believe I heard that the U.K. is still seriously considering making porn sites required to be opted-in.

Bwahaha, the size of the task force required to catalogue all the affiliates would employ all of Britain.trap15 wrote:I believe I heard that the U.K. is still seriously considering making porn sites required to be opted-in.
Recession over!
PSX Vita: Slightly more popular than Color TV-Game system. Almost as successful as the Wii U.

Your ISP musn't be BT cos I can still get onto pirate bay.
While all these new restrictions will probably be a pain next time I go on a emulation / doujin DLing spree, hopefully it will go a little way to kerb folk DLing 100GBs of data per month just because they can.

Yeah the ISPs have been dragging their heels on this and ISP monitoring for years and whatever measures they put in will probably be half assed. You can easily get around it by going to the site over https or an alternate port (8080 might work on some of them, dunno).
