How many games have you beaten?

Post by Cthulhu »

What people consider "beaten" will vary of course (go see one of the many "what is a 1CC" threads to see why people can't agree on stuff like this...), but by your count, how many games do you think you've beaten?

I'm pretty sure I haven't beaten 1000 games, but I'm sure I've beaten more than a few hundred. Probably somewhere in the region of 400 to 500... but that's a pretty randomly chosen figure. I've been playing games for almost two decades now, so it seems pretty feasible though. (Man do I feel old saying that...)

*yawn*

I've beaten so many games.

*morning stretch*

EDIT actually I don't want to complete games, so that's why I allways play on the hardest 1st loop difficulty with everything.

I want a challenge. from the start.

Dunno, but could probably make a list if I thought hard enough, so can't be too many. I think especially over the last ten years, I've got to a point where I play for fun. I refuse to spend hours forcing myself to play a game in case it improves, hence the preference for shooters - instant gratification.

I actually started making a list of every game i've beaten because of a thread on SomethingAwful, but then quit midway through the 32 bit era. I'm in the couple-hundred range as well, sadly. Hell, I didn't even list my PC games (which I burned through a good number of while unemployed). Over 2 decades of gaming adds up.

Recently I've been just cleaning through my PS2 library and trying to complete as many of the games as I can.

...and somehow I still have not gotten around to beating Zone of the Enders. Fuck.

I actually haven't beaten that many games. I was terrible at games when I was younger, and I'm only now starting to get decent at them. I have beaten at least more than 10.

50 to 75 games at most.

Oh yea, I've spent more than 20 years on video games.

That's really something I wish I kept counting up until now. But I'd say I'd probably be around that mid-hundreds mark.

Maybe an added poll would get things going.

Hmmmm hard to say when you take into account loads of games can be beaten inside half an hour and credit feeding its a few hundred.

I'd say well over 300, not counting coin-ops of any kind. Yes, I play a lot of games. However, I want to make games for a living, so it's research, technically

Seriously though, I only play an hour a day, at most, except when playing games with friends. I beat a ton of games back in my younger days, when I didn't have to spend my summers working.

Some games I just can't/won't complete. Rocket Knight Adventures I've come so close to beating, but haven't. Fantastic Dizzy for Megadrive I almost did, but I really don't want to. Some games are better left with the unfinished image.

I 1cc'd a fighting game once.

Since most of us has been mostly likely playing Video Games for a long time, it's pretty much safe to assume that we've all practically lost count. That and it's not like we keep a tally on how many games we've beaten.

I say between 100-150. The ones I've beaten the most are Megaman X (lots and lots of times) and Gradius Gaiden (27 since I began counting.)

I've been playing games since 1987, but officially I started spending some serious time & beating games in 1990... So I would say I've beaten around 300-400 games (rough estimate.)

Games beaten most times:

Aliens Vs Predator - Arcades
Carrier Airwing - Arcades
Gaiares - Genesis
Mega Man 2 - NES
Ninja Gaiden 3 - NES
Punisher - Arcades
RayForce - Arcades
RayStorm - PS-1
R-Type II - AMIGA
Thunder Force III - Genesis
Thunder Force V - Genesis
Turrican II - Genesis

Ditto.

I used to play games a good deal more, but I've never averaged more than maybe five hours of gaming a week. These days I'm lucky to get 90 min. in in a given week. So I usually play games sheerly for entertainment value; the moment I realize I haven't been having fun playing the game, I usually shelve it for awhile, regardless of how far I've played into it. I doubt I've beaten even half the games I own. I've probably beaten some 50 or so games in my twenty years of gaming.

I'm also far more likely to replay a game I've beaten dozens of times (CV:SotN, for example) than to work on a new game.

I've been playing since the days of Atari 2600 (back then there were no endings, arcade games were just for high scores :D), I can't exactly remember how many games I've beaten. These days I'll run an emulator load up a random game, and proceed to get my ass handed to me, although now and then a certain game will grab my attention and I try and work on it a bit.

of all the games (read: hundreds) i own/have owned i'd say less than 5% of those.

edit: was the videopac the odyssey 2 only in a different region, cause i swear between the graphics and the cart design...
