Somehow you may have forgotten to read the text at the bottom:
Note this will NOT help with the following games which have fully secured areas in their internal ROMs. Don’t ask about them
Demon Front, The Gladiator – Road of the Sword / Shen Jian, Oriental Legend Special/Super Plus, The Killing Blade Plus/EX, Happy 6-in-1, S.V.G. – Spectral vs Generation

KO - BEE DIARRHEA

Looks neat enough. Good job on getting this game cracked. This helps ensure that the game will never be lost to time, at least until humanity dies out during the great Bydo War.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Indeed a rice read. It was ALSO great to see that the author shares my opinion that 'galuda, Ketsui and DOJ are Cave's best work.

Thanks for the link.

i actually said "holy shit" out loud when i saw the screenshots  - i love bee storm, have the cartridge, and am now overjoyed that i'll be able to recommend it to people and have them play it easily. amazing work! based on the video, the sound is incredibly funky (the first stage music is very telling, hahaha), but it's still great to see!

Renard owns the PCB; I'd say he's already decided he likes it.

Ooooooh.

Man, I swear, I actually never expected to see this in MAME.
Pretty interesting, and we'll finally be able to see if it's as shit as everyone seems to claim [I doubt it's completely terrible, but hey!].

Also, since it's actually emulating the fast ARM now, what's the sysreqs for full speed?

And woah, I hear stolen music during the boss at 4:17! It's part of Defloration.mod!
It's been modified a bit, so they tried to hide it, but that surprised me!
Now I wouldn't be surprised if we could track the rest of the soundtrack down like this...
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

oh wow! i thought the soundtrack had an early MOD quality to it, especially the first stage and boss themes. i'd love to hear where else things may have been ripped from, because i seriously dig a good chunk of the soundtrack.

Well we've known the Cave PGM games were originally in .MOD format prior to being put on the boards in some other similar format, so it makes sense that Beestorm would use converted .mods.

I think I can see why the negativity about this is around - it's basically like the Cave game equivalent of the uncanny valley hypothesis. It's trying so hard to be a Dodonpachi but it's not quite there in such a way that it goes past the 'wow this is cool like Dodonpachi' part and becomes 'ewww its a ripoff done wrong omg'.

I'll certainly have a shot at it for sure. Apparently some of the sound channels aren't quite right but then the sound emulation for PGM entirely has been considered not 100% to begin with. This will be interesting.

I actually got to play this in Chicago. It is way more lush and detailed graphically than Metal Slug, and the game play is solid!

agree. it's very, very different than metal slug once you get down to the nitty gritty. clone on the surface only, and another one of my faves. :D i've got the cartridge, and i can say based on the video alone that this looks obscenely accurate, including the audio!

Fuck yes! I wanted to play that one for a long time.

I hope The Gladiator can be emulated in a not too far away future too.

Damn! Getting Demon Front emulated is a godsend. Now I can actually practice chaining the difficult parts! This game should get a lot more respect now.
