So I was talking to my buddy at work today and he told me about this. Apparently his wife bought a hamster because she thought his 3 year old son needed a pet. Never saw my hamsters doing that, but my chinchilla did it a lot. What disturbs me is that both of those have some really sharp big teeth and their claws are no joke either, and still they use both their paws and their mouths to do the thing with no worries at all.
