Anytime a Konami Shmup is cheap like that or you get sent through the wall maze of doom drives me off the deep end. I seriously have a major hate for wall collisions.

I hate that kind of shit, it sent me completely potty when I played an alpha version of 360 Revolver, where the bullets are white and the background is blue and white and bullets completely disappear in sections.

Other moments of rage would be dieing to the last bullet of the stage 6 boss in DDP when im trying to 1ALL it for the first time.
Same goes for Gradius NES where I died to that closing gate just before the ending, it took me another week of solid play to get to that point again, where I discover the end boss wasnt a real boss but just blew up with no input to me, which made me rage even more

Edit: It seems Konami had some evil trolling bastards on their dev teams over the years

This is nothing compared to the total mindfuck of the Winbee boss fight. It's like watching a 3D movie without glasses when the bridge of death scrolls by.

Enemies and bullets are also frequently obscured by the game's bloom effects.

* Getting motion sickness from the line-scrolling effect of Strite's water surface on my first couple plays of Thunder Force IV.
* The slowdown during the mothership battle of R-Type Final.
* Last portion of Stage 5 in Pulstar. Doable, but with little room for error.
* Any moment of arcade Gradius III. A game so tough that Konami backed off a bit for G4.


Moments of ultimate joy:
Ibara Kuro: Getting the XTC and rank up high, then reaping a few million with the Baradise system while the screen is littered with x300's that used to be bullets a couple seconds ago. OMG yes.

Nicely done! Not sure of the requirements but if it's anything like regular BL it's probably collect all bees & end all boss fights with a full red bar. (just end of level bosses? Again not sure)

OT: The double mirror shield fight in Judgement Silversword. Why won't you die!? I've been shooting you for so long...

Are you talking about the final attack with her on top of the fetus? Because I love that attack, it's a real thrill. For me what's incredibly frustrating is the attack with the spinning spikes of doom.

Yep, she lets out a piercing scream which pretty much kills you no matter what. She's definitely the hardest boss in the series. My favorite is Shiki 2, since tough as Shintaro is, I can actually 1CC him.

Oh god don't remind me about shiki 3's stage 3.... Who thought turning the game into rtype was a good idea. Atleast shiki 2 has that connect 4 boss for stage 3 which makes it slightly enjoyable.
