Need more of an explanation. Did someone think DFK/AK support was going to be added to an emulator?

Well the newest version of demul was supposed to support properly most SH3 games (except DFK and AK), but it seems they disabled that

Demul v0.5.7 is out. Has anyone tested it to see if it's able to run the Cave Games?

We already have a thread about this. SH3 support was disabled, though I think it can run the newer Milestone shmups now.

MAME runs SH3 shmups rather well with decent hardware(constant full speed in most games). I doubt SH3`s emulation in Demul would have been as good. Atomiswave and Naomi 2 games run like ass in that thing.

Isn't demul all about Naomi/DC hardware? Why does Atomiswave and Naomi2 run like ass in it?

On the contrary, xMetallicx confirmed that the performance in Demul was better by shitloads compared to MAME for various reasons regarding how Demul works (or depending on how you look at it, how MAME sucks).

I wouldn't say Demul was all about the NAOMI/DC stuff either - nullDC runs Dreamcast games better though Demul might have the edge on the Windows CE-based games for now.

After playing some Dreamcast games a few years ago I put Demul use on hiatus. What are the worthwhile added games of 0.5.7?
I set up Demul 0.5.7 for NAOMI and NAOMI2 shooters and other games from MAME (apparently running well), and I didn't notice anything particularly new in compat.txt. Are the most recent shmups Dreamcast-only?

Apparently the general NAOMI performance and compatibility is a bit better. There's the Atomiswave stuff but I don't know enough about Demul's history or Atomiswave material itself to know whether that's new. It has fixes to the Model 3 support in it but Supermodel does a better job anyway as they say themselves in one of the files.

For specific games though, mjclark's raving about Illvelo. Apparently it's great and I trust his judgement.
