TATE QUESTION
TATE QUESTION
I just tated my LCD computer monitor to play some games. With mame you have the screen options available so you can rotate the picture, but how can I do this with f.example Eden Aegis as it does start automatically the way it is supposed but it does not go fullscreen like it would when my monitor would be in normal state?

Re: TATE QUESTION
Unless the game actually supports a TATE mode (Raiden II comes to mind), you can't really do it in fullscreen.
If the game has a windowed mode, you can (depending on your graphics hardware), rotate your desktop and get the correct orientation. Check in the display properties control panel to see if there's an option. If not, there's probably some freeware utility that'll do it.

If you're using MAME, then you can go into the game properties and uncheck "Enforce Aspect Ratio" and the game will be fullscreen.

Re: TATE QUESTION
I've never seen a freeware utility that does this properly but if you do find one let me know. From what I've tried they just attempt to use what your graphics driver software offer for screen rotation. If the graphics driver software is as updated as you get and that doesn't offer it, no freeware alternative will do it.shmuppyLove wrote:Unless the game actually supports a TATE mode (Raiden II comes to mind), you can't really do it in fullscreen.

Re: TATE QUESTION
I had good results with mame. but the problems were with directx vertical shooters like shikigami no shiro III. even with my nvidia control panel set to rotate everything, the game would not let me do it. I could tate in window mode fine but fullscreen would crash the game. or it would go fullscreen normal with blue bars.

Re: TATE QUESTION
Ah yes, the Type X games. They're another matter altogether. Still waiting for someone to explain to me what this RIV_Launcher.exe is/whether it's significant from the normal one for Raiden IV, but I think we went through all the hoops and hoohahs on the Type X thread and figured out it was nigh impossible except for some guy's hackjob which rarely worked.
