Yep -- remember when Sega had some creativity?

I know, now for a special night you have to have Class A drugs and fisting!

Anyway, I'm glad that some of the last-gen greats/hidden gems are making their way to XBLA. Virtual Console remedied my lack of a SNES, N64 and PCE, and now XBLA is redressing my not having owned a sega system since genesis. Take that rich kid whose divorced parents payed him off by getting him every console when I was growing up! :|

I owe you a coke if you can name the reference. If not, then I've got a show for you.

From "Peep Show"

...further proof that google is rapidly approaching omniscience. 8) They just added that show to netflix, I'll have to check it out. :D

666th post. Congrats. ;)
And yes, Google... scary shit.

So worth watching... one of the few English shows that doesn't require you to have pretentious English friends to enjoy!

Sorry, did someone just mention Peep Show? That show is one of my favorite things ever :) I think it kind of peaked at the season 5 finale. The build-up to that was terrifying.

I like JSR, but the level design totally falls apart in the Golden Rhino stages. Never beaten them, and I doubt I ever will.

JSRF is on the other end of the spectrum, suffering from a serious lack of difficulty (except in the race battles) and sprawling, practically open world locales with thinly-spread features. Also, the graffiti editor doesn't work on the 360.

Those are the "tacked on" stages. They're okay every now and again, but they're not that fun.

JSRF stages can be claimed to be too big, but once you get good at them they're quite fun.

This is very awesome news. You know what they're thinking: "If this sells well, we'll look into a sequel." Too bad it probably won't sell too well :(

I'll buy it just to support the franchise but I doubt I'll play it much seeing how I already played the hell out of the DC and Xbox versions. I remember the games not having much replay value, which was a problem given how easy they were.

Share the bong. I've played through both games like 10 times.

The game already runs extremely well in NullDC and looks much better that way than it will ever look on consoles. Will only be getting this if they revamp the control scheme and map camera controls(which the original had none; centering doesn`t count) to the right analogue stick.

Jesus Christ, forget the bong, I want whatever you're on.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

This is one case where a half and half mix of both games would be fantastic, the tighter design of JSR with the speed and tagging of JSRF, with proper HD and all the music... yeah, dream on Marc.

Well if you care about widescreen, that would be a potential reason to get the console port. I know NullDC claims to have the option to display the extra geometry, but I've never gotten it to work.

Can't say I'm really thrilled about this... then again I played my Jet Grind Radio copy on the Dreamcast day 1 release and had my fill of the game.

At least the younger guys can finally experience some of the Dreamcast most unique games.

I still haven't completed Jet Set Radio Future on the Xbox.... need to get back to that one at some point :)

Hopefully the NA exclusive tracks don't make a return.

There was one US exclusive song that was good but it was only in one of the "tacked on" stages. Ultimate edition of this game would be.

1: More user-friendly tagging of enemies (w/ the number counter), but w/ the harder patterns found in the original (if memory serves).
2: Cube/Combo side story ditched, as well as their English voice actors
3: Cube remainds grunge since goth is weak ass shit
4: Grind City and the other stage accessible as bonus

I'm still a little curious as to how this will play out though. It's a Japanese production and there were soundtrack changes in the different regional releases. Worth noting. I may actually have to update my blog after a year.

EDIT:
Read the article above, which isn't bad, but I think there's one inaccuracy.
Game publishers considered their older titles less than worthless.
While I agree they may not have forethought the intricacies of soundtrack licensing, we've seen anti-emulation behavior out of just about everyone for ages now. The two statements contradict each other.

It's neither here nor there though. I'm sure all of the Naganuma tracks will make it to the game. If not, maybe a hack one day to put them back in down the road. Either way, I'm excited to see some effort put into the franchise, other than a slot machine.
