Extron scalers, how do they perform?

Post by BuckoA51 »

I noticed on e-bay a number of Extron branded scalers, such as the Extron DVS 150, are becoming affordable (from some sellers at least, others still want silly money), yet there's no reference to them on Fudoh's pages, has anyone tried one and know how they perform?

Oh, that does surprise me, I'd have expected Extron stuff to be really good, like broadcast grade even. Oh well, my curiosity is sedated, glad I didn't bid on that cheap one :)

I have an Extron RGB-HDMI 300. I haven't tried feeding it a 240p signal, just B1 output from my XRGB-3, and component from my Wii. It can be useful for resolving all of the horizontal resolution from B1 output (similar to Konsole's experience using the Gefen for the same purpose). The XRGB-mini is vastly superior for the Wii... I can share more info about the Extron if interested.

I also have Extron's LDex and LQex line doubler/quadrupler switchers!
