Super Bowl XLVI commercials...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

With an groundbreaking asking price of $3.5 million for just a mere 30 seconds of airtime during Super Bowl 46, there have been some memorable commercials aired before halftime. What were your favorites?

The VW commercial with a cameo apperance of the infamous Star Wars Cantina scene with Darth Vader using his trademark Force chokehold was refreshing for a change of pace. Makes me wonder just how much VW paid Lucasfilm Ltd. to use their SW IP?

The Fiat 500 Abarth commercial was cool with it's unexpected switcheroo stunt. Nice color scheme with the black & red motif.

The new Acura NSX at Acura car dealership that car collectors Jerry Seinfeild & Jay Leno are lusting over was slick.

I lol'd when the half-time show ripped off that old 300 "Vogue" remix video. (vid)

Got to admit that this year's SB 46 commercials are better than last years. Might as well have a good punchline to deliver within those precious 30 seconds timeframe.

As a Giants fan, I can honestly say that unlike usual, I used the commercials time to use the bathroom. What few commercials I did see, It was like "Well who fucking cares, there's an awesome football game on instead!"

Maybe I just caught the wrong ones?

Agreed; it was an absolutely great game. I'm so used to the Superbowl being a letdown after the playoffs, but this one was nail-biting right up until the end.
