Xbox Live Deal Of The Week (Dec 13th 2011) - Shmup related.

Post by DrTrouserPlank »

This week the deal of the week for Gold members is a cracker so I've posted in this forum so it doesn't get overlooked.

Hard Corps Uprising = 600 points (down from 1200)
Radiant Silvergun = 600 points (down from 1200)
Guwange = 400 points (down from 800)
Bangai-O HD = 400 points. (down from 800)

Enjoy. :)

pretty sure Trial cards only get tyou the online play and not any of the other Gold stuff.

And when are they going to do a deal on King of Fighters SkyStage? If it doesn't happen soon, I may just pay the 800.

I've wondered this. Yesterday I finally accepted that Triggerheart exelica is never going to be on offer and paid the 800 points.

I'm pretty close to doing the same with KOF sky stage as well now.

Yeah, at least in the past there was already sales for...

Galaga (mostly), Space Invaders (Mostly), Ikaruga (once), Trouble Witches Neo (once), and maybe others that I haven't remembered but only once on sale.

Those that haven't yet are

Triggerheart, KOF SkyStage, Strania, and some others as well.

Anyways, Might get R.S. soon, sheesh, at least XBL gets a decent sale for once, and only just this one week only, lol.

In my limited experience, prepaid membership cards are region-locked (a call to MS customer support sorted it out the first time I discovered this fact, your mileage may vary), while promotional codes (incl. 1mo) are not.

I'm using a month trial card from GTA4, and just got the discount on Guwange.

I think month trials are full gold accounts, and the two day passes are the gimped ones.

The thing is that both Trouble Witches and Radiant Silvergun have been deal of the week not that long after being released (probably a similar amount of time after release for both). I think that time has passed for THE and KOF:SS

I'd never completely discount the possibility to KOF going on sale as there could always be some sort of SNK week, or KOF week, but I don't think it's that likely and I'm sure the KOF fighters have had a week on sale as well.

THE I am adamant will never be on sale.

Could someone please explain Radiant Silvergun to me. I want to buy it, at 600 points I feel compelled to buy it; but I don't like it one bit. The demo makes it feel like some cheap-ass 80 point indie game developed by a couple of teenagers as a school project.

I know it's revered as some sort of "definitive" shooter but I just can't see it.

and for some stages, other colors, but usually Reds.

Or if you have Ikaruga XBLA, choose the Ikaruga style and actually have fun with the game. Demo stage sucks BTW.

Anyway, checked out Bangai-O as I already had the others, and I'm not gonna buy that one. Already have the others.

I'd love to get Radiant Silvergun and Hard Corps at that price. If anyone has a 2-day trial code they don't need, I'd be thankful to get one via PM and be a guinea pig to see if they work. :D

As said above, most 2 day trial codes only give you online multiplayer access and none of the other Gold perks like Deal of the Week pricing. Your mileage may vary, though. If you can find a one month trial code, those are more likely to work.

Bah. If that's the case, no money for Microsoft. More money for Steam daily deals since they actually want my cash I guess.

I'm the same, though I saw them advertising some sort of 1-month Gold thing for a buck...I didn't look into it too closely, what's the catch? Guwange for 6 bucks (even if you factor in the extra dollar for Gold) is tempting me...

the catch is to do the promos, you have to use a credit card, and it sets you up for monthly renewal which is the stupidest of the renewal options. So you have to make sure to cancel that.

And I have Gold due to the Halo games.

This pack came with perfect timing as my health isnt too great atm so I havnt felt like playing any danmaku. But some casual play of Hardcorps and RSG (plus Geo wars 2 for 800msp on daily deals) could be just what the doctor ordered :)
MJR wrote:I..won't..go..gold..
I thought similar as im not really in to online (apart from Darksouls) and most XBLA games have no one using the servers. However ive more than made up for the cost of a 3months gold membership from the savings ive made on the sales, just RSG at 600msp and a 1 month card is about the same as it normally would be

Cool, games which I can't buy because I can't add my credit card and can't get Paypal to work with my local account. Fuck you, Microsoft.

If people think I'm going to be subject to Indian tech support again they're sorely mistaken.

Basically the level they used is the absolute worst one they could have picked for making the game look appealing. I tried the demo on a friend's 360 before I bought it and was like "hmmm so THIS is the game of legend I had waited so long to play? DAT OVERHYPE GOD DAMN."

So I got mad and proceeded to throw that idea on the back burner for a while. A month later I got a 360 and needed something to hold me over till I got DFK, so I decided to buy RSG(fucking deal happening shortly after I buy it >_>). Awesome game, very hard to play for score though. There is a lot to playing the game as I still struggle with the mass of weapons available to use and when to use them. I assure you it plays much better than the demo would lead you to think. Nows a good time to get it at 1/2 price, I wish I could've held out on buying it earlier -_-

Well, I could, but MSP cards cost more to buy physically than they do virtually. And really, the point is, I shouldn't have to go out of my way to give someone money.
