Ordering with AmiAmi. Your experience.

Post by DrTrouserPlank »

I am looking for people's experience ordering from AmiAmi; Specifically people from within the EU who have ordered via the SAL delivery method.

How long has this method taken for your product to arrive along with your location, have you been subject to tax upon the product entering your country (specifically SAL), would you recommend AmiAmi?

I have evaded taxation on numerous products entering the UK from Japan/China via "airmail" (i.e. they were eligible for tax) and wondered if SAL as opposed to airmail was more likely to incur the attention of the arseholes at cutsoms?

Input welcomed.
To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.

perfect experience so far. SAL is kinda slow for very small items (single CD or DVD case). Can take up to 2.5 weeks. Heavier items usually around 10 days. Amiami does full declaration on the contents, so you have the same "chance" to avoid customs as with any other postal service. Amiami's prices are fair thought and the package very well. Also SAL from Japan is safe and isn't affected by the terrible transit time fluctuations I experience with Airmail from HK (everything from 1 week to 2 months).

You will be custom taxed purchasing through AmiAmi, guaranteed (Edit: sorry, using EMS shipping that is  )

I order from AmiAmi all the time SAL takes around 2 weeks (usually a bit less) to get to me in England, I've never been hit by customs when using SAL but got hit both times I went with EMS.

Thank you for the info. I didn't know about that EMS and tax.

Air Small 1-2 weeks (Is this one ok? or do you pay tax too)

SAL 2-5 weeks (How much does it cost?)
