Rayxanber

Post by Groove »

Hi all,

Does anyone here happen to know where I could get my hands on the music tracks from the Original Rayxanber 1? I used to have them on hard-disc...but my hard-drive got killed :( I need them for a remix project I'm working on.

Even if someone could point me in the direction of the proper emulator and game file, I could rip the music myself.

Thanks,
Groove

I actually realized its Rayxanber 3 that I need the music from!

Even tho I haven't found the original music...I have found some rock remix/arrangements of the rayxanber3 tracks. If you like the rock remixes they have on DoD, VGMIX or OCREMIX, you'll prolly dig these tracks:

Well the music certainly sounds awesome! Not as good as Lords of Thunder, IMO, but still plenty of old-school, but-kickin' guitar! At any rate, is the game itself more reasonable, in terms of difficulty, then II? Because I've read a LOT of negative stuff about II.

Where can I hear some of the music from Gate of Thunder??

It's a TOTALLY different game than two. I think II is crap and the difficulty isn't even half the problem. III is a fantastic shmup. Just a joy to play through. Difficulty is very reasonable.

Just go to that same site he linked two for some really fantastic Remix tracks from all kinds of games. I fell for OCDeathAdderRemix from Golden Axe, just incredible.

Never played these games. They look amazing. I'll check them out on an emulator.

Those tracks where splendiferous also. I love solos.

I'm not sure what you mean by rip, but the songs are clean of any gameplay sound FXs --- 128kbs mp3s.

What I'm asking is that there is no official OST, correct?

Could you PM info on how to get that soundtrack as I'm quite interested after all this talk about it. Thanks.

yeah, I've always thought Rayxanber III's soundtrack was killer, esp. on stage 3.

thanks for the links- the arranged tracks sound cool, really beefy.

not sure about any of the emulation stuff, but I do know that the original PCE game disc
can be played like an audio CD on most stereos/walkmen (just skip the first two tracks).

You're right, there is nothing official out there. I got the tracks emailed to me, but instead of me giving out his email and 10-15 people pounding on his mailbox, what I can do is host the MP3s on my webspace! My webspace is 5MB, but they only check the space at 6am.

I'm going to try to post the entire Rayxanber 3 Soundtrack on SATURDAY at 7AM (GMT -5) and take them down at 11PM. I can also put them up SUNDAY (for the same times) if some people can't get them Saturday.

They will eventually be hosted here: http://web.uvic.ca/~smithba/rayx/

I'll throw up another post when I get the files online.
