Volume on headphones with analog (red/white) audio source

Post by linko9 »

So I've got a y-adapter that I can use to take audio from a games box (Wii, PS3, etc), and run it into headphones

But there's no way to control the volume in the headphones (which is very, very loud), unless the game I'm playing happens to have audio settings that can be turned way, way down. What's the cheapest device I can get to allow me to control the volume? I assume there's something I can put in between the adapter and the phones that will let me control volume...

Of course, in-line volume controls are available for little cost. I use one in my cab, before the amp (not within easy reach).
Don't bomb. DON'T BOMB.
Damn! Should have bombed.

if it`s too loud and you only need to adjust it down then I would suggest something like this:
