Burunyanman Portable...wtf?!

Post by BulletMagnet »

Saw this on Siliconera and wondered if any of you guys knew more about it than I did - apparently it's an expanded version of a shooter mini-game from an eroge, now being stand-alone released (at some point) for the PSP in Japan. Either way, I'm sure a few people here are probably miffed that this thing eventually got made into its own game, as opposed to the Tokimemo mini-shooters.

Wasn't there a horzie shooter included with one of the PS2 Fate Stay/Night games?

Since I don't have a PSP it's a good thing it will be released for PC as well.

holyshit, finally i can play this one without installing Musumaker. i think i've 1 stage trial lying around somewhere in my stash (and yeah, it's mediocre shmups with obligatory "girl at questionable age" overlay afaik)

Here's the original demo: http://www.digitalcute.com/contents/com ... Itemid,27/

I've actually played this, and it's actually really well polished for a doujin game. Short though, so the demo did really feel like a demo.

PC version? Count me in then. I don't even know wtf is this other than a scary shooter but you said the proper key words and I've been summoned.

How much it'll be on the comp? Or, more exactly, which stores are going to carry this thing?

Uh-oh... Mmm, on second thoughts and after seeing those images, I think I might save my money for C81 stuff. Revolver360 is coming to PC and I want to support that :P

Yeah, that is.. kind of disgusting. But is that actually in the shmup, or for their other material?

Well, at least the Twitter icons are cute.

The mere existence of such things is a motive of shame to humanity.

It was in a list of screenshots from one of the above links, so I presume it's from the game.

FOOT PUNCH!

It would be priceless to see the reaction of the Steam users when confronted to this thing. I thought it was some sort of Trouble Witches clone or something like that Xuse shooter that mixed an average hentai VN with a boring horizontal scroller... so in the end it ended up being bad in both sides.

I'm still curious about the price. PC retail in Japan can be ridiculously expensive. Ok, maybe not Australia-expensive but still.

Don't worry about it. You can travel from the Milky Way to Andromeda and back 1500 times before the sun explodes.

actually it's pretty nice game ,remind me of parodius for some reason. not a perfect or must play one of course but i'd like to play the full version someday
also , i don't know why the speed of narrow shot type character is so slow when the wide shot type is a lot faster ,some weird design choice we get here.

there you go. yeah 1,2 gb is quite something. i guess the full version will just have the exe slightly modified.

the game is broken in several places. it crashed a few times when i tried to enter the settings, when
choosing the guy you can't skip the cut scenes instantly. also that narrow shot girl is probably the slowest
character in any shooter i've experienced and basically impossible to use. i also have the impression that the
hit point has some weird shape and is bigger that it's supposed to. had a few weird deaths were the upper
edge of the hit point wouldn't touch a bullet but still register as hit.

the game feels quite cheap - the bosses have one attack pattern on every form and you can fight the
first two with very minimal movement. i think the first boss requires no moving at all. it's also very dissapointing
that the difficulty changes mostly only the speed of the bullets and not their amount.

well it is what it is. the pause screen showing a tissue box kind of indicates what the creators had in mind.

still love it though.

Heh, if the game is fun enough I'll love it even more for the lolis. It may be poor in taste, but I enjoy the WTF factor. Same reason I like games like Sexy Parodius... Although even those would be far more modest.

Is there any interesting scoring mechanic to those that have played? Or particularly enjoyable gameplay? That's what matters to me. The ridiculous amount of loli fanservice is just a hilariously bad taste bonus.

Ahahahah I love it!

Buzzing bullets gives you a super FIRIN MAH LAZOR charge shot similar to the Shiki games "tension" system. Bosses are huge and wear mouse ears for some reason, the artwork is great and gameplay is fun and easy to get into. Sound I can't comment on yet, I'm playing it at work so it's muted

Not sure about scoring mechanics yet, other than cancelling enemy shots into coins. Coins I think are a multiplier? Or maybe just an end of level bonus, not sure yet.

No idea what the dialog is, but I imagine at the 2nd stage boss they are comparing belly-buttons.

Oh found this:

http://www.otakustudy.com/2012/01/three ... d-systems/

It says the videos are in the trial version, but kind of hard to read the menus to find them.

Explains why the trial is 1.2GB, so many videos!

those are KEMONOMIMI.

learn 2 otaku.

there is a quite fun proximity system that rewards you for taking the risk of being very close to the bullets.
the sharp bullets make this quite fun. although as i said i think there is something wrong with the hit point.

edit : wow. over half an hour of explaining the game when you can explain a late cave game in a minute. nuts.

but DAT voice acting. NYAN.
