Replacement Cases for games like Batsugun?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

You know those slightly bigger than your average CD case, that a few Japanese Saturn games have(Cotton 2, Batsugun)? Is there anywhere to buy replacement cases for these? I don't even know what they're called. Are they just specific for Saturn games, or was there a type of case in Japan, that can be bought?

I haven't seen empty replacement cases, but they're not this uncommon. I've first seen them on a few PC Engine games (e.g. the Ziria SCD rerelease) and after the Saturn era, several Dreamcast games used them as well. If you need a replacement case, your best shot is to hunt down a cheap DC game using such a case.

A cheaper Saturn game using such a case is SF Zero 2. On the DC maybe Fire Pro Wrestling or SFIII: 3rd Strike, but I'm sure others can name even cheaper ones.

NCSX helped me last time I needed one. They pointed me to a Saturn winning eleven soccer game that cost about $10.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll just stick with the ones I have. I was just wanting mint ones, but I don't really want to pay for a whole new game for it.

I doubt you'll find any of the Sega wide cases by themselves. I ended up buying 4 copies of Saturn Greatest Nine 98 (or possibly 97...) for $4 each brand new and gutted them for the clear wide cases to replace a few of my damaged ones.
