Binding of Isaac (PC/Mac) out on Steam

Post by Moniker »

Edmund McMillen's latest is out on steam. A self-described "roguelike shooter." Although, it doesn't really feel like either, tbh.

I'm personally getting moderate slowdown whenever something other than Isaac is on-screen, which seems to be a common problem even for those without shitty laptops. It also makes the fatal flaw of giving a shooter inertia. Not sure if I would give it a recommendation. Atmosphere & so forth are great, though.

The soundtrack is really excellent, however, and is only 89c or something.
The freaks are rising through the floor.
Recommended XBLIG shmups.

just got this (wrath of the lamb) and its pretty awesome so far after 5h of play.
Im terrible at it and I think I reached the 2nd zone only once.
tons of items and the gameplay is pretty neat.

I waited this long to get it cause I didnt like the graphics I saw but I have to say this is a great game.

Anyone playing it?
Any strats?
massive amount of items I have to shift from the game to the wikia constantly.

so Ive been putting a lot of runs and set joytokey to play with the gamepad.
definitely gamepad game.

Ive been looking around for some infos and I discovered this:

the youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWDF82j72vT_FcAKTiNN3zg
and the twitch here : http://www.twitch.tv/crumps2/profile

its a BoI speedracing league 1v1 both players on same screen and the commentator explains items and choices.
incredibly well done and entertenaing.

Additionnal article: http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/19/453868 ... t-thing-to

I had really no idea about all that considering the randomness of the game, and they came up with a great format.
I utterly suck and I reached necropolis 2 and am yet to meet the mom´s foot.
can´t save so when you start a run you die or finish it which is a bit annoying,so I let the game iddling in the background a lot since I cant spend my life on it.

I was hooked on the base game but the dlc came along full of bags and murdered any semblance of balance so I dropped it and never went back. Wonder if it's been patched at all since.

What do you mean by unbalanced? The item combinations are made specifically to change the difficulty of gameplay, and some items/combinations are purposefully over/underpowered.

Purposefully or not, that's still unbalanced.
