Tropical storm Pedring has struck the Philippines

Post by tinotormed »

This is one of the worst tropical storms ever since Ondoy, which struck back in 2009. I was one of the people to witness this kind of destructive force that the gust of wind is very powerful than the first one a few years back.

BTW, my housetree is uprooted along with the rooftop in front of my window around 7:00 A.M. Philippine Time, costing us electricity within 25 and a half hours.

You are all welcome to discuss my story. Filipinos and OFWs around are welcome to share their stories here. You may post in Tagalog if you wish since I do understand my own language.

I am fine, just living here in Quezon City in my home. The house was slightly damaged because our tree here just got uprooted along with the electricity to come with it. Later on, I might be all over the local media.

Our local news website GMA just announced that Angat Dam has overloaded, 18+ people dead in Luzon, flights cancelled, etc. What's worse, Pedring's gust of wind just blew every single plant and fence all over the streets, if not damaged.

We deal with these things all the time in the southern US, not only are they a pest with the damage they can do, but when they get stronger, they cause even more headache. We dealt with Tropical Storm Lee for days this year, it wouldn't go away for about 4 days. Thankfully it caught some dry air that strangled it, or it could've been much much worse. Hurricane Lilli in 02 was the last memorable storm to strike where I live, it took out trees and power lines and poles, some places were without power for days. We had Gustav I believe in 08 or 09, he was a relative pussycat till he got further north of us and turned dry yards into lakes.

This just in: My grandpa will be on the news along with my home. Somehow I might be in the picture as well! Expect to see why in the laster days. For gramps, he said about what happened during the past 2 days without electricity, and that is really because our electrical company Meralco has just got one of their generators washed away! We just got our power back earlier today at exactly 8:40 A.M. No one was hurt in our street during Pedring's fury.

BTW, I am living within the streets of East Kamias around Quezon City.

The typhoon is already gone, but the aftermath is still getting worse than expected.

 Please pray for all the victims that were struck by this biggest typhoon since Ondoy.

And yes, there is a possibility of another typhoon coming our way, but that is another story.

For some reason, the weather here is not that threatening in the Philippines (except for that lightning strikes) compared to America, which were struck not only typhoons but complete with hurricanes and tornadoes.

Bear with me, my house is still okay along with me, but it is slightly damaged due to the tree being uprooted.
