Mitsubishi Lancer

Anybody driving this car?

I'm thinking of getting the current Sportback version, but of course I need some input from the most critical people on the Internet – Shmup-fans – first.

I drive an '05 Lancer Ralliart actually. Nice bright yellow one. I haven't driven the new model. My next car (in a few more years) will be another Lancer Ralliart. I found the Evos too focused for racing and not utilitarian enough. The Ralliart is ALMOST as powerful, and I can actually use it ;) They handle like a dream....great car. I've put over 160,000 KM on mine so far and I've never had to do a single repair other than standard maintenance. Not one. I highly recommend the Ralliart line if it's within your price range.

Saw one in cherry red metallic today - great colour.
It was new. Good looking from the front. Not so awesome from the back (double-entendres aside :) ).
Performance? I'd have to ask my cousin. He co-owns a company that superchips Japanese cars.

I drive an 03 Evolution VIII. While i don't know much about that model. If its a turbo and stick it will be a blast. If it's paddles still a blast. If it's anything like the Evolutions (maybe aside from the 10) you will feel every nook, cranny and bump 10fold. One of the best cars I've ever owned next to a 300zx twin turbo.

The two cars are quite different the ralliart and evo. Almost is an overstatement saying that they are almost equal in terms of power. The evo will flat out destroy the ralliart. But if you want a daily driver get the ralliart.

That's kind of what I meant. The actual horsepower difference is only like 50 on the new model according to the dealership when I asked about em. But that's pretty much where the comparison ends. Same frame design and 50 HP difference. Definitely no question an Evo would obliterate a Ralliart...and most other stuff in it's class out there! :P

Both the Ralliart and the Evo now come with paddle shifting. You can pretty much feel the whole road with my '05 Ralliart too. It was weird to get used to at first but I love how much more control it gives you! For sure the Ralliart is for the daily driver who wants a solid car. The new Evos don't hardly even have a trunk! They've put the battery and some of the fluids in there for weight distribution. The Ralliarts still have a full trunk with a fold down seat.
