What do you know, before Compile made Zanac X Zanac, Guru Logi Champ and went belly up, they released an action adventure game exclusively for PC. Looks poor (nice enough sprites, but very cheap, grainy, compressed looking beckdrops) - not a patch on Ys II Eternal released in the very same year 2000 - but seems fairly playable with a joypad. The music is pretty good (not surprisingly, coming from Compile). Somewhat PCE-like, cheerful vibe makes it hard to dislike despite the cheap looks.
I don't feel like playing it in Japanese (the wordiness is about Ys level) as the only word I can decipher is の, but hey, a game of this genre by the makers of The Guardian Legend and Golvellius deserves some attention while Compile Heart shake their Agarest game at westerners. I hope it'll receive a fan translation treatment someday.
There's also a bonus puzzle game Wander Number on the disc, reusing Wander Wonder's graphics and characters, sporting the story mode and some multiplayer (?) options.
