XRGB 2+ support

so i recently brought my XRGB2+ back out and hooked my 360 to it, which i've never tried before, and i got this:



although i can see pieces of animation and bits of the XRGB menu overlay when i call it, everything is greatly distorted and happens only within those two rectangles in the middle. the sound is fine.

input is through AV composite cables, and ending up on my Dell 20" Ultrasharp 2009Wt LCD display. i feel it might have something to do with improper settings or hardware signal frequency incompatibilities, progressive scan issues, etc, rather than malfunction.

any ideas from you experts out there?

it doesn't make any sense whatsoever to connect a 360 to a XRGB2+. The 360 already outputs native 480p through VGA and the XRGB doesn't overlay 480i inputs with scanlines (if that was your goal). If you want VGA with scanlines use a 360 VGA cable and a SLG3000.

What you see usually means that you're feeding 31khz to a 15khz input, but I don't know the 360 behaviour with AV cables connected. As far as I know you still need to chose 15khz output. On the original component cable (which also included a composite jack) you had a switch which allowed to switch between 15khz (composite) and 31khz+ (component).

It was indeed the switch on the AV cable that required a reset back to the TV (composite) position. I wasn't aware of this switch.

Picture looks atrocious but since I'm selling my TV, this is better than nothing right now.

indeed, but getting a $10 VGA cable should be worth the effort
