Can you ask if they mind suggestions in english through the form ?

Here's my dream XRGB (if the case has to stay the same):

composite and s-video inputs can be put on the YUV luminance/chrominance inputs (Switchable by software).

I would probably ditch some of the front buttons as well... Just replace the direct input buttons by a cycle button, save space, add a HDMI front input instead.

it's not so easy :)

You chose audio RCA output ? you sure it's possible ?

red = output
green = special
blue = input

absolutely no problem. The 3.5mm jack is a heritage from older times, when the XRGB was clearly marketed towards PC users who wanted to play on their monitors and use their active PC speakers. Now it's nothing than a nuisance (and it maybe saves a little space).
red = output
green = special
blue = input
I know, but some combinations are missing and some sets are only available in limited numbers, so I switched to Photoshop :)

I actually forget to request a feature. maybe somebody can add it to his "request catalogue".

I finally want +/-90° picture rotation. This is SO EASY to do with a high resolution HDMI output and it would finally get me back into buying a few PCBs.

Change scanline over HDMI to scanline overlay on progressive signals.

Shadow mask filter would be a nice touch too. ;)

Optional integral (hard) scaling (2x, 3x, 4x + overscan option). This should be easy to implement. People who hate black bars can use overscan or switch engines to interpolated. H and V screen adjustment is a must with overscan.

not if you want proper 480i deinterlacing in the same machine. They will never go for a ASIC+FPGA dual design. If they add proper 480i deinterlacing (which they will, because people will love it on the mini), they have to go with a proper ASIC like the Marvell they use in the mini. Additional scaling options can only be done in FPGA.

How about a chassis that doesn't look out of place in an equipment rack? I can't stand running cables into the front of my devices. I know in Japan that's not a big concern--miniaturizing it is.

A nice standard width component would be nice.

Classy.

It's pointless, Fudoh's right. I'm not sure I would want it over proper 480i deinterlacing myself.

I read Japanese slowly, do you guys understand what's being asked there? Its easy to follow.

01. The first area with all the tick boxes asks you to select any model(s) you currently own.
02. The price drop down menu asks for the "appropriate" price.
03. The first text input field asks for inputs and related functions you would like.
04. The second field asks for outputs and related functions.
05. The third field asks for any special functions.

They then ask you to take a screenshot of your assembled XRGB you make with their tool and attach it using the last three buttons, you can make up to three of course. Sorry but I was a bit too rushed to screenshot and label it all.

I think you could submit most of that in English as its mainly a list of things like "VGA" which is the same in both languages. If you feel you have to write a sentence I might be able to translate for you if they're short and I don't get loads of requests. It would be good to send off a consensus forum opinion as you lot understand all this a lot better than me.

Heck I'd buy one that just had a B1 mode without all the problems (screen warping, blanking on white screens when not using pure sync, problems with NeoGeo/PC Engine, etc).

A) 255 preset save slots, so you dont have to dial in new settings on a console change. On console change just choose pre-edited preset and youre done within seconds. VERY important feature. Should be added.
B) Secure the system so it doesnt blow if you plug european scart connector in, maybe make it selectable via software to accept jap and/or eur scartplugs. No need for adpator anymore.

So is there any news on when this is expected to come out?

If I could get an XRGB with component in, HDMI out, and better 480i handling, I would be so goddamn sold it'd be ridiculous.

Would also be nice to have all the inputs/outputs on the back, since I like to keep my component rack classy.

And that's how exactly different from the XRGB-mini coming later this year ?

When shown recently on the Ceatec, the unit was pretty much done. Here's the thread on it: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=33450

Ah... I was under the impression (apparently, a mistaken one) that it was basically a ghetto-fied XRGB-3. Guess I'll read up. Thanks.
