A clever use of text, to produce graphics! I went back in time now, nostalgia total! From the time I used an Apple II UNITRON!

I've seen shmups use ASCII art before, but never like this!!

This looks awesome....when will a demo exist? :)

It's quite fun, with nice, fast bullet patterns.

I do have one problem though.... some of the enemies take WAY too much punishment to kill... I often to focus all my shot power on enemy for about a 40 seconds before it blows up. Considering the amout of enemies entering and leaving the playing field all the time, this results in a low score because it's taking too long to destroy a single enemy.

I'd say the transforming ships are the biggest offenders of this.

However, the rest of the game is pretty smooth...kudos on having enemies' color change as their health drops.

Hah, that's strange, the transofrming ships have very low health compared to others of comparable size...

It should only be a couple of seconds at most to take them down, or one charged shot - the charged shots are critical for some enemies, and budgeting should still allow you to use the bomb when needed.

There is a tougher 'gunship' type enemy later in the stage with high HP and movement, perhaps that's what you're talking about? Probably a good idea to reduce its health...

For better or worse, a little bit of memorisation helps - knowing where enemies come from will certainly let you get those critical extra shots on them. I know intense memorisation isn't a particularly destired property, but hopefully it hasn't reached that level :p.

Just out of interest, how high have you scored?
