Help with custom setup!

Post by tcancian »

Hi guys, I've made a custom setup so I could play MAME low-res in my CRT SDTV. What I used:

- RGB to YPrPb transcoder
- ArcadeVGA
- WinModelines
- VGA to SCART cable

I get picture, and it's fitting somewhat fine on the screen (it is cropping, but can be adjusted by WinModelines) the issue is, I have a weird distorted line on top of the image and it simply won't go away and I don't really know what to do. I used the twist method to obtain composite sync from -H and -V of the VGA cable. I read that, because of the twisting, there might be no ground and signals might be "overtaking" one another.

Inside the cable there was a hsync ground, but I have not grounded it. I don't know much of electronics, all I knew was that I needed composite sync lol. At the very least I managed to output a low-resolution signal and got native scanlines from non-interlaced. :)

Did some research and came across this schematic:

I have not grounded hsync ground and vsync ground. But... this other schematic:

Does not use vsync at all. And the grounding is different.

:? :? :?
