HELP! adding buttons on blast city CP

Post by johnwoo14 »

Hi everybody!
I just got a nice blast city from Rklok but I need some help
The CP is set for 2p three buttons each, I would like to connect my atomiswave board so I need two more buttons.
As far as I can see the wires are already connected from the jamma pins to the female molex connector of the CP, however the male connector misses the wires to connect the two additional buttons.
Since I'm not able soldering, is there a simplier way to add wires and buttons to the existing molex male connector?

Thanks! :D

Hey, I think your best option is to buy a new panel with the button layout of your choice. Personally I prefer 1-player panels, here are some available for purchase: http://www.akihabarashop.jp/index.php?c ... cd9453c8d4 (Blast City).

thanks for the tip, but I think buying a new cp is a little big expensive choice just to add a few buttons! 8)
is there any way to find crimpled wires that fit the male connector I already have? or at least I would even buy the entire new CP harness if I could find it :(

Take a few pictures of your panel and harness and I think helping you out will get easier.

here they are, this is the male connector I need to add to the wires for the two buttons I need

This is the female connector on the CP, here all the wires are connected the right way down to the jamma board

You just need some correctly sized crimp pins then to get your wires into the connector.

Not sure if these are the right kind?

http://www.lizardlick.com/Molex-156-Cri ... p_217.html

I'm guessing you'd have to check the manual for the cab to see what size is required. Or someone here probably knows.

They're pretty straight-forward -- wire up the button, strip a bit of insulation at the other end, crimp on the pin and push into the wire side of the harness connector and it locks into place.
