Can someone upload a save state for Ketsui True Last Boss...

I am hoping someone has a save state for Ketsui's true last boss. Now, I know, it's a bitch move on my part. I've already completed it on the DS, but all I want to do is fight the true last boss because I simply cannot do it in the arcade version. I just want to hear that great drum & bass song while fighting him. I'm not even sure if it's the true last boss or just not the one I fought, because the one I fought was some weird green machine with arms that looked simply ridiculous, but I can't survive that last stage for the life of me.

You've got an emulator, dude. Lower the CPU speed, use savestates... shouldn't be hard at all to get to the TLB within a few hours.

Half a day just to save the first 5 stages both loops and Doom

Thanks, I've been looking for something like this. I've dropped it in the sta folder and tried loading the state but it says "Unable to load state to to invalid header. Make sure the save state is correct for this game." I'm using Shmupmame V2.2 by the way. I guessing I either have to edit a file or use a different version of mame.

Out of curiosity, how do i lower the speed in, say, Shmupmame?

In builds based on newer versions of MAME, like Shmupmame 2.2, press Tab and go to "Slider Controls." One of the sliders is for overclocking the main CPU, and you can set it to less than 100% to reduce the game speed, or to more than 100% to eliminate slowdown, which is great for titles like Metal Slug 2.

In older versions of MAME, you'd instead press ~ while the game was running to bring up the volume slider, then use the up or down arrow key to cycle through the various sliders until you reach the one for "Overclock CPU0." It might work like that in Shmupmame 3.0.

However, it'd probably be simpler to just use the cheat for invincibility. Your only concern would be getting a high enough score to trigger the second loop, then you could just fast-forward to Doom, turn off cheats, make a save state, and go to town.

You can just creditfeed to Doom from there and it should be a properly humbling experience for everyone.

This save state file works fine on Mame 141.
I don't use Shmupmame, so i dunno if works on Shmupmame 3.0

On topic though, thanks ケツイ for the savestates, I can imagine some people making good use of this. I tried it in Shmupmame v3.0b and Barakketh's edit of MAME 0.142 and they didn't work, so I guess .141 savestates are exclusive in that regard.

By the way, I am not meaning the True Last Boss, but the boss after the green last boss that you fight after you die. Is that the TLB? Because I once saw someone beat that boss, then the same last boss but way faster. Which is the one I want, because I am totally not ready for that fast last one.

By the way, I have save states for the beginning of every boss if everyone is interested. I have up until stage 4 with one life lost. I could do better, but I am usually drunk when I play lol.

Yes, that is the TLB. You sure you didn't watch a DS version replay? That's the only version that has multiple Doom fights in succession.

I already uploaded a state that you can use to just simply creditfeed to that boss. I didn't do the creditfeeding myself, because people need to experience the second loop.

Two save states for regular MAME 0.142.0.0. One at the beginning of the URA loop the other at Evaccania DOOM. To use, rename them and put in the sta folder.
