We were reasonably satisfied with the performance of Deathsmiles, but we are not currently pursuing any other similar games.
Nothing concrete but it doesn't sounds like DFK or DS2 will be showing up in the west any time soon.

Glad to see everyone's taking it well.Tags:

i see ds in gamestop more often then record of agarest war. That game never gets displayed.agustusx wrote:Kinda stinks. But I guess it's to be expected. I'm sure no one really picked up DS NA at a gamestop...I'm sure they never even put them on display...
Thanks, thats the game I wanted to reference but could not think of the name. I've seen Agarest War at my closest gamestop but not DS. I wonder which game sold more copies in the US?dunpeal2064 wrote:i see ds in gamestop more often then record of agarest war. That game never gets displayed.agustusx wrote:Kinda stinks. Will they only do fighters now?
I would like to know as well. I really hope Agarest didn't outsell DS, as I cannot find Agarest enjoyable in any way. Granted, I am not a huge srpg fan, but I would say with 99% certainty that Deathsmiles is outright a better game.agustusx wrote:Thanks, thats the game I wanted to reference but could not think of the name. If you go by VGChartz, Deathsmiles sits at a bit under 90K, while Agarest approaches 150K.agustusx wrote:I wonder which game sold more copies in the US?
I'm sure Rising Star benefited greatly from Aksys/Cave having already gone at it for DS.Zeron wrote:Yeah I know lol faceshit but CAVE does not even have Aksys as their friend while they do have Rising Star Games, can't put any concrete evidence but it seem to me that Rising Star Games has alot better relations with CAVE.
I am pretty sure VGChartz just makes up their numbers, unless it was in the NPD top 20, in which case they just steal them. That sounds way too high for Deathsmiles in the US, but maybe not, idk.BulletMagnet wrote:If you go by VGChartz, Deathsmiles sits at a bit under 90K, while Agarest approaches 150K.agustusx wrote:I wonder which game sold more copies in the US?
For comparison's sake, in Japan the figures are roughly 48K versus 6K, respectively.
The US version was patched a couple of weeks ago to bring the slowdown closer to (or to) the Japanese version.Zeron wrote:Also not to mention the butchered version Aksys got,and no word of a patch, meanwhile we got confirmations that the PAL version will be just like the NTSC-J version then the talks about a patch began both the PAL game and US patch were release very close to eachother I seriously doubt there ever would have been a patch if it was not for RSG.

Yes because it's hard to prove they would sell that many more via download to make up for the loss in revenue. I'm not sure that many casual folks find a 5 stage shooter worth $10, let alone $15. Also, if they went XBLA they would require demos, which certainly is the weakest point for a Cave game. Could you imagine trying to sell someone on how awesome Futari is with the first stage alone?gray117 wrote: ... I'd hope this'll push them into the $15 downloadable market, but I suppose that's a different kettle of fish altogether.
When i was talking to their former PR girl prior to DS's launch it certainly seemed like Cave was pretty much running the show and Aksys was just along for the ride. Not exactly the best place to begin a relationship.EU03 wrote:Don't quote me on this, but months ago, my contact at Aksys mentioned something about the experience with Cave and was probably going to be likely that they wouldn't bother working with them again.
