Blazblue Calamity Trigger (PC) crashing on the title screen.

The title kinda says it, the intro video plays fine but when I press start on the title screen Blazblue encounters a problem and crashes.
I tried changing the video playback quality to low, updating video card drivers, reinstalling the game and installing/uninstalling video codecs but no help.
My friend has this problem on one of his computers, except he was able to run the game once before this problem started.

If anyone could help that would be great.

What video card do you have?

It could be a DRM thing. There's a technical help thread for the PC version on the BlazBlue website. You might find some usual info there:
