Post by Nico87 »

Yeah, planning to get a Saturn stick, but which one is the best?

So far considering these two;

Which one is the best for shmups?

The western stick - the black one - is awful.

That's just the JP version of the 1st stick.

Although the 2nd one from the original post is much better, neither stick is amazing. The Tototek converter with an HRAP performs well and still goes for only $15 (however, it does combine the front and back L/R buttons, making it worthless for Capcom fighters that need R2 for HK). The Sigma converter is amazing in allowing the use of AES and Sigma DB15 sticks but is pretty rare.

Agree w/all who've posted, the second stick is miles beyond the standard black sega brand (1st pic) or the standard grey JP (3rd pic).

On the first standard black, those go for $5-8 plus shipping, no more than $15 total, you are paying $35+ for the box on that one.

Your best bet if your willing to pay $50ish for honestly a pretty bad stick, you should put out an offer out to buy a custom mod stick and i'm sure someone will hit you up and get you a crazy good single or twinstick.

Good luck...

honestly, neither. the first stick is 100% pure crap. the second stick is an ok case (the button layout is just bizarre. the xyz buttons should be in the abc row, and the abc row should be where the L button is), but you'll want to swap the stick and buttons so you're looking at $50+ in parts. plus shipping and labor costs if you can't do the work yourself.

ouch, just noticed $42 for shipping on the second stick. that's $80 total :shock: for a used crap stick.

HSS-0130 or nothing.

It's not worth it though.

Yeah, the Virtua Stick Pro is by far the best SS stick available and really cool to see but then you try to use the stick with 2 people and realize it's too small, and the default buttons are sluggish, and P2's button layout is inferior to P1's.
