hantarex mtc9000 still worth it?

Post by matrigs »

i found someone who has dismounted a few arcade machines about 5 years ago, and has two hantarex mtc9000 sets with complete chassis and us250 power supplies. he wants about 30 dollars for one.

i searched on the internet that this screen was quite popular back in the days and afaik a few forum members have some.

my question is - is it still worth buying such a screen (implying it's technically okay). i couldn't find a lot of pictures or movies with the screen so i am kind of afraid that the picture might be washed out.

the cool thing in this chassis is that it has a selector for using either both h-sync and v-sync or just composite-sync alone which is grear as i will be able to connect most of my consoles and not play around with sync extractors or else. so maybe even if the screen itself is bad this chassis might be worth the money ?

some pictures of the screen would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

That sounds like a steal at $30. How could you go wrong?

this guy lives kind of far away and there will be quite some shipping costs. i think that with the power supply and all i will pay around 60 dollars.

it might be a steal for the price of course it's just that i don't really want to store useless junk at home. i read somewhere that these screens might be 25 years old ? that's quite a lot.
