Facebook chat notification = PS2 mushihimesama menu select
Facebook's chat notification sound is damned near identical to the PS2 port of Mushihime Sama's menu select sound.
I'm not a facebooker, but the wife's been chatting away all day, and the sound sample has driven me nuts as I've tried to place it. Finally got it this afternoon.
[edit] And in my excited rush, I posted it in the wrong forum. Please move to "offtopic".

I actually hate the Chat in Facebook. If there only was a way to turn that off.

I hate it too. I just set it so I'm offline and I never get messages.emphatic wrote:I actually hate the Chat in Facebook. If there only was a way to turn that off.
Feedback will set you free.

Brotip: Most sound effects are just the same ones from sound effect/sample CDs except changed around a bit. Sometimes not even changed at all.

True, if I had a nickel for how many times I've heard Doom's monster and door opening/closing sound effects elsewhere...Udderdude wrote:Brotip: Most sound effects are just the same ones from sound effect/sample CDs except changed around a bit. Sometimes not even changed at all.

I'd only have about a quarter by that standard :Pdrunkninja24 wrote:True, if I had a nickel for how many times I've heard Doom's monster and door opening/closing sound effects elsewhere...Udderdude wrote:Brotip: Most sound effects are just the same ones from sound effect/sample CDs except changed around a bit. But the point is still valid, there are a lot of stock samples for this kind of thing [just like how every techno song ever uses the Vengeance sample set for their drums :DDD].

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Yeah, that one appears everywhere. There's also the classic car tyre skid sound from an old effects CD I had as a kid that I hear on every single movie and TV show.drunkninja24 wrote:True, if I had a nickel for how many times I've heard Doom's monster and door opening/closing sound effects elsewhere...Udderdude wrote:Brotip: Most sound effects are just the same ones from sound effect/sample CDs except changed around a bit. Clearly they're all public domain, which is why they're in such frequent use.
