Where is my stuff?

Post by KroeboCop »

The last 2 or 3 post I have made in here have been something there have been posted a 100 years before me, so now I hope this thread is the right place. 8) My question is, have you ever tried waiting a long time for a package? I pre-ordered Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu from Neo Amusement, but I haven't see the shadow of it yet  Have some of you tried that before? Next time I will have a T&T number 8)

I once waited almost two months for a package to arrive from play-asia, so yeah, sometimes it takes very long.

16 years and still waiting for 2 NES Dev. units I ordered from John Bull / Brakken of "tehskeen.com". I've almost given up hope of ever receiving them - could just be the Christmas season delay.

I've been waiting like 8 years for a Dellamorte Dellamore DVD. Every couple of years I still email him and ask him where it's at.

I borrowed Lunar 2 (PSX) to a friend in 7th or 8th grade (like 10 years ago). Asked for it back many times and had my concern brushed away by some random remarks. Only early this year did the guy say that he broke it when I asked about it again (on facebook). (At this point, asking about it was just a joke because I knew something happened to it.) lol. My Lunar 2 =( I gave up hope for it in High School, any way.

Still waiting on an order of arcade parts from November.

I don't care too much considering it was cheap, but I'll follow it up in a few weeks.

Firebug Mark is long gone. He invited me to a meet up in London but I did not reply to him. I liked him, but I always felt like he was taking too much on his own plate.

If someone is going to manufacture something for people on this forum they should have a business plan of making the model before putting it on sale. Much like Viletim has been doing.

haha.. Yeah, I've written it off. I finally caught up with the guy last year, apparently he's now/was a heavy-hitter in the Wii modding / homebrew / emulation scene - and he gave me some sob story about how much his life sucks, he takes anti-psychotic medication and is on government assistance. I paid $300 for 2 units, and he said he could start paying me back $20 dollars a month - I told him to keep it - whether he's lying or really is in a bad situation, he obviously needs it more than me.

sorry - it was 12 years ago.. haha I found my usenet posting from 1998..

Geezus christ, that's a long time ago. The worst I've had was about 5 years, I bought one of those old GameBoy Printers from somebody overseas, I gave up waiting after about 2 months and got my money back. 5 years later the rural post turns up on my door with a box, okay it wasn't really a box anymore.. tissue paper?

And they told me it had been sitting in a storage cupboard the last few years, somewhere near the back at the bottom. The only reason they found it is because they sold-off the building and the people who deliver our mail recognized the address.. I got a gift basket full of supermarket food and what not as a /sorry/.

Oh yeah, FYI - Printer, non-functioning. Oh and when I was 10 I won something from the Lego.com club and it turned up a year later. I still loved it though. <3

I doubt I'll get anything back unless someone physically goes to his house and takes the supergun from him and ships it to me, and I am not holding my breath for that. Sad thing is I know the unit is assembled on his bench (I got pictures of it before he went awol) and he's too lazy to ship it. Probably sold it to someone else for extra $ by now. Luckily I have gotten pretty good with a soldering iron in the meantime and have been upgrading the supergun I bought from forum user "lawnspic" with most of the features I ordered from firebug.

rancor, you have waited a long time. Your story made me feel a bit better actually lol.

Firebug is the kinda guy that likes to talk a lot. He will agree to anything in your company or perhaps a forum post that makes him feel like a provider. But when all is said and done he is like Mohammed ali. Floats like a butterfly, stings like bee.

In the 20 hours or so I've had in his presence he did nothing but talk. Most of the projects he did for me he took them home because he just sat there drinking tea (my moms fault for that) and smoking. It took 6 months for a simple mod to be done. It took 3 months to get a joystick hack done and even then he got the wiring wrong.

That said, I liked him. But I would only do business with him if he is round my house doing the stuff. I was supposed to buy a cabinet from him but I'm guessing he found another buyer or never actually finished restoring it.

One time I tracked a package onto the plane where it didn't move for a week. When I rang up parcelforce.co.uk they said "don't worry its on the plane". I said "What for a week?"

I can't believe you haven't tried to follow through. You've met the guy in person, get on it :?

I would've gone to the shmupmeet just to call him out in front of other people (assuming it was a event type thing). I mean, this is above and beyond what you have to do, but people have a lot of money at stake here and they would greatly appreciate it.

To be fair though, when its somonelse's money and not your own you probably wouldnt want to get involved especially since you might be the one losing out in the long run, if it was a relative or a real close friend I would probably get involved and go the distance.

Only advice I can give is to contact the police or law enforcement agencies and see if they can help you recover the cash.

Well, I'm disappointed to hear no-one has had anything sorted. I did my best to communicate with FB on behalf of folks here, and I believed the chap four months back when I saw him and he said he was planning to get everything in order.

Turns out that wasn't the case.

I'm still waiting for a DVD player I won in an art competition run by Pioneer back in 2001. Not that I need a sixth DVD player, but... I'm also waiting for a CD and poster I won in another art competition back in 1998. The moral: don't bother entering art competitions; bitches never deliver.
