Tron 2.0 viddya game Xbox?
Can anyone give me an opinion about the Tron 2.0 video game? I assume it has little to do with the movie that just got released?
I'm not talking about the current gen one, there was one released under the title Tron 2.0 for the PC and Xbox.

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

It's more of a PC game. PC first person shooter developed in the era when first person shooters were more of a PC genre. I'd expect the Xbox version to be compromised.
On the PC it plays well and looks good (this kind of graphics doesn't really age) but I haven't gotten far into it as there was something else vying for my attention around that time. If I remember correctly, I slightly preferred it to No One Lives Forever 2.
Story-wise it's a sequel to the original film.

Didn't Tron 2.0 come out around the time of "the end of PC gaming (and the British Empire)," aka Deus Ex 2?Obiwanshinobi wrote:It's more of a PC game. PC first person shooter developed in the era when first person shooters were more of a PC genre. I'd expect the Xbox version to be compromised.

Better than No One Lives Forever 2 - that'd be interesting to see. NOLF 2 is pretty decent, and it's certainly pretty, but TRON 2.0 has that glowstick rave thing going for it.

I believe the Xbox version to be just a port. Think Jedi Outcast.
In hindsight, the settings must have been too leftfield for the gaming masses. Still not as outlandish as Halo (where I wouldn't be surprised to find out all those dudes have been wearing pink lacy underwear all the time).

I have it for the X-Box. Pretty decent, but nothing revolutionary. Sadly, the only thing I remember about it is tracking down those upgrade cubes.

PC version is damned good actually
<@scootnet> if you were a real gamer, you could jerk it to Super Metroid box art

Same thing on GBA, actuallyDamocles wrote:I have it for the X-Box. Pretty decent, but nothing revolutionary. Sadly, the only thing I remember about it is tracking down those upgrade cubes.

There's more to the PC version than that I hope...Psychonauts did collecting well - well, sort of; it's still damned collecting.

I can speak for Tron 2.0 for PC.
It owns. It's a solid single-player FPS with innovative level design and neat RPG elements, and it was seriously underrated. It's so low-key and unassuming that everyone passed it over, but it's a great game and you ought to play it through. It is the definition of an overlooked "gem".
PLAY IT. I recommend it.

I really liked the PC version as well. I tried to play in on xbox recently and it just didn't do anything for me. I ran into some spots where I'd get attacked by a baddie that I could barely see because of the low resolution, not a big deal but it could be pretty aggravating.

It's one of the many Xbox games I own but haven't gotten around to playing (Spider-Man, Indy Jones, etc). After watching the sequel recently and re-watching the original movie, I am interested in giving this game a try now.
