The whereabouts of Eightone?
The whereabouts of Eightone?
Does anyone know if Eightone is still in Japan or not? I was in Burlingame today at the import shop and there was a guy there that looked a hell of a lot like the pictures of Eightone I've seen on the forum back when he used to post. He knew a bunch about shmups and 2D fighters and mentioned that he had lived in Japan for a while. It struck me later that just might be him. Any info out there?

Why didn't you just ask him?8 1/2 wrote:Does anyone know if Eightone is still in Japan or not? If it wasn't him, the guy at least had an interesting story to tell his friends:
("...and then this guy, who looked perfectly sane at first glance, walked up to me, eyed me closely and finally asked me: "Excuse me, sir. Are you EightOne?" The situation was so strange that the only thing that came to my mind was an old movie quote, so I answered: "I'm not a number, I'm a free man." The other guy then asked patiently: "Yes, of course, but are you EightOne?". Then I ran...")
Yes, where's eightrooks? I remember having some interesting arguments with him back when I first joined the forum.Turrican wrote:how many eights do we have on this forum anyway? There's 8 1/2, eightone, and if I'm not mistaken there used to be "eight rooks" years ago.
