Is there any way to get a PS3 to look right on a 16:10 monitor(not stretched). It doesn't have an option like the 360 does.
Is there like a cheap in between box or something that can sort this out?

It might be more fruitful to check the menus on your monitor to see if it has different scaling modes. My 16:10 monitor unfortunately didn't have any; for 720p input it would crop off the left and right sides to show the remaining picture at the correct aspect ratio, and it would scale 1080p input to fit the screen (incorrect aspect).
I just ended up getting a 16:9 monitor to use instead.

PS3 only outputs in TV Standards. 1280x720 and 1920x1080 are all you can hope for.

This is the reason I sold my 22" HP w2207h (1680x1050) and bought a 16:9 Asus "EVO" monitor.
