I've been trying to remember the name of a game I saw years and ago, I am of the hope that some of you might know it. It's a 2D top down PC shooter, probably all done in software. The terrain consisted of tiles, the map was (iirc) one screen in size, and there were many "holes" to fall in and die. to further complicate things the ships had almost no traction. One of the best things about this game were the explosions - they were all very dynamic and cartoony, lots of orange and yellow with bits of shrapnel - and they'd push anyone near them. The only other feature I remember clearly is that in the bottom right corner of the demo level there was an turret gun protecting a powerup at the end of a very precarious path. just to the left of the turret was a wall

121002320
1x2100200
122100200
012100200
(where 0=hole 1=wall 2=floor 3=turret 4=powerup)
and somehow the turret could shoot between the two diagonal 1s and hit x. Now that I think of it the laser weapons would bounce off the walls 2 or 3 times before dying. I seem to remember this game was in a game making contest. I checked the IGDA but didn't find anything that rang a bell.
If anyone remembers what this game was please tell me, it's driving me nuts. Thanks!
Do you remember what it's called?
