Another plea for a Cave write up at HC Gaming 101

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I would have just updated my old plea, but since the search engine on this site is...umm....quirky, I don't think I could find it within the hour.

So, here's another one.

The great folks there now have write ups on now on Raizing, Compile, Konami(shmups), and Gradius. They also have write ups on Shikigami No Shiro, Dreamcast Shmups, Ikaruga/Radiant Silvergun, and a number of others. It's pretty awesome.

However, so far we only got one Cave one, and that's Ketsui. It's great that it's on there, but it's nuts that it's the only one.

Perhaps now that DFK is out, maybe some kind soul could do a write up on that series, since doing one for all of Cave's catalog would be a bit intimidating. Or maybe someone could do one on Mushi, Futari, and that weird puzzle game. That wouldn't be too much trouble. Or the three ESP games. Hell, what about Guwange? It's just one game!

Anyway, i'm getting ahead of myself. I'm just hoping someone on here with writing skills and knowledge could start to add some Cave games to this site. It boggles my mind that with all the fans Cave have, they only have one game on there. That's a hub of information, and they should definitely be represented more.

20 seconds to find, there you go. The search engine is pretty good, you just have to learn how to use it. For the record, I put in "Cave" as the keyword, "evil_ash_xero" as the author, searched within first post of topics only and displayed results as topics instead of posts. Fifth hit on the first page. Easy peasy.

But let's see if this new thread will get someone to actually write an article.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Actually, a few days ago I signed up to do a Cave write-up or two for that site...which, precisely, I'll keep secret for now, though I might need a bit of fact-checking help from you lovely folks eventually.

EDIT: It actually looks like HG101 has taken down the request for Cave articles, so apparently most of their games have some coverage coming at some point.

I wrote a Feveron one that's going up sometime this week. It's actually on there now but I'll let him roll it out with the next update or whatever he decides to do.

Well, thank goodness. It just seemed so bizarre that there was so little about Cave on there, considering their popularity amongst the hardcore gamer.

Due to the articles seemingly going through phases where we see lots of one genre been posted together (like point and clickers atm) I always thought all the articles were written by just one or two gamers I didnt know there were other contributions from other ppl aswell. HCG101 is a great site I found loads of rare classics when I started moving away from current AAA best sellers into niche and retrogaming

Very nice article, and wow, I wasn't expecting to see my vid linked at the bottom! Thanks for the plug, haha, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at the game.

Wow, things have been going great, since my initial pleas.

SOOOO...now, somebody is gonna have to do one for DDP and Mushi. Who is up this challenge?

It's awesome that so many other games have gotten write ups now, but DDP must be represented, don't you think?
