Scart CRT and Vogatek Supergun

Post by sebastian17 »

First of all a polite hello to forum members :),

would it be feasible for someone to answer these two very simple questions for me please... could a scart to vga lead (link below) work with a vogatek supergun and normal vga computer monitor? I only ask this because I can't seem to get my supergun to work with my hd tv and my older tv is not a scart (av aerial), moreover my last question is... has anybody ordered or have any knowledge to the arcade website - http://www.retrogame-shop.com

thank-you in advance.

No. There are a few problems with this.

First off, a regular PC monitor will not diplay resolutions this low.

Even if you had a monitor that would (like a tri-sync Arcade monitor) that is not the right cable. I have spoken to that ebay seller in the past and he said this:
VGA 13 and 14 are wired to
Scart solder side 11 and 13 or plug side 18 and 20.

I bought one like that and re-wired the C Vid to the H Sync to use on monitors that accept C Sync.

Does anyone know why the H and V sync lines on the VGA end are often connected to unused data lines on the SCART? What SCART input can accept that? And doesn't his answer seem to make no sense?

No problem with retrogame-shop, this is a small shop in Paris, the owner is nice and know his job, sometimes the prices are a bit expensive, but no problem for me, all the items i bought were in great condition

Thank-you for the polite reply Sparda (now all I need is for the pound to go back up), in reference to the Supergun if I were to purchase this RGBS/CGA/EGA/YUV TO VGA converter (again link below) could I attach my Supergun via a RGBS Scart lead to the RGBS connector that is sold on eBay and then plug my PC monitor into the RGBS connector to view/play games on my monitor?

I think that will work with most PCB's. Some will probably have funny syncs that won't play nicely with that board. That is the case with my SCART to component converter that I use with my Vogatek. But I see in the manual from that board that there is a "clamp" switch that may fix this issue.
