MAME High-scores, how?

Post by Demetori »

How do I save my high-scores? None of my Cave games are saving. I've got that highscores.dat file in there as well.
I'm using SDLMAME on OSX with MAME Tunes front end and no luck. I can't even use save states as it's telling me about some anonymous timers, and that it's generated a log file, but I can't find any log file.
Google Translate tells me that Unlimited Mode "is for people who like festivals."

i dont think highscore.dat will do it alone. you will have to compile a version of sdlmame yourself with highscore support. or find a version of sdlmame that has highscore support. Even then you might not be able to save highscores as some games dont support it.

if all else fail, use pen and paper :D

also a lot of people just reset the game after each play and never save them.
just take a screenshot of your score if it's a good one :)
savestates don't work on standard mame for cave's games(donpachi, ddp at least).
I use wolfmame 0.99 on PC,no idea if it is available on mac,but it has savestates.
