Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
MVS > XRGB-3 B1 > Gefen doesn't work. The image keeps popping up and disappearing again. V-sync doesn't change anything.
Same thing with Master System in both 50 and 60Hz.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
And that's exactly why I believe that the FM will provide a fix by adjusting the output framerate to a straight 59.94hz no matter what.
The MVS is also too far off from the standard NTSC timing to be affected by the XRGB's v-sync option.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Any chance that the Edge will work with MVS and Master System?
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
I haven't tested it on the edge, but on other DVDO units this works fine.
MVS -> XRGB -> DVDO also works nice.

Thank you once again. I'll consider the Edge

Not sure what you can dig them up for over there but if you're interested a Canadian chain-store here is blowing them out for $249 CAD (according to a forum post--I'd have to chase that up for you to verify).Konsolkongen wrote:Thank you once again. I'll consider the Edge
Let me know. Not sure what it would cost to ship to you. I've snagged a number of tough items to find from members on this board--would love the opportunity to "pay it forward". =)
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Don't the DVDO units add ringing when scaling from one rez to another, or was that just for <480p signals?Fudoh wrote:I haven't tested it on the edge, but on other DVDO units this works fine.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
yes, they do. But on a already quite detailed picture like the XRGB's B1 output with scanlines it's really ok. Nothing to worry about.
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Wow, that is a good deal for the edge, I paid ~$450 USD for mine and it was totally worth it.HDgaming42 wrote:

I am still very pleased with it since I posted last time(in the xrgb thread). I have been playing Pier Solar(genesis/megadrive rpg) with enhanced music cd with rgb scart to jrgb->xrgb-3->dvdo edge->TV. It's videogame bliss...
As much as I've messed with different equipment to get the image I want, I have been very pleased with this setup AKA actually playing games as opposed to tweaking.
Current Setup:

240P->XRGB-3->Edge->4x2 matrix->DLP HDTV
480i/P->YPbPrselect-^ . . ^ . . V-->hdmi2vga->Super Emotia->Tate CRT SDTV

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Does the Edge's power input support both 110 and 240V?
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
The spec sheet says YES!Konsolkongen wrote:Does the Edge's power input support both 110 and 240V?

No joy getting the SMS working stable on my XRGB3->DVDO Edge setup I'm afraid. This is using a Megadrive with a SMS converter.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
I'm using a Master System Converter too. What's the problem with Master System :/
I need to play Lucky Dime Caper with scanlines. That game kicks!
EDIT: I'm still going to buy an Edge

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Ok this is going way off topic but....
On the SMS you get a picture at first but it keeps coming and going. Also, contrary to what Fudoh says, I've had someone write into my site asking why MVS->XRGB3->DVDO Edge does NOT work. Though I don't own a MVS so I can't say from personal experience, but perhaps the VP50 has better/more tolerant VGA processing than the Edge? Incidentally I was using a PAL SMS game on an NTSC Genesis, so further investigation is warranted
As luck would have it I've just picked up a Gefen cheaply from E-bay, I intend to compare the two so I'll let you know. I also have trouble with PS2, PC Engine and occasionally Saturn losing picture when going XRGB3->DVDO Edge->TV, though there are probably ways to troubleshoot these that I'm still investigating.

why are we posting this in the Flame Meister thread ?I also have trouble with PS2, PC Engine and occasionally Saturn losing picture when going XRGB3->DVDO Edge->TV
You have unlocked the output frequency right on your Edge, right ?
I should have the opportunity to revisit the MVS problem sometime soon. Basically because I wanted to test MVS->DVDO->SLG3000, but I hope to be able to try it on th Edge as well.
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Actually no, I'm not sure I have and I promise this is the last post in this thread on this unrelated topic from meYou have unlocked the output frequency right on your Edge, right ?

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
some news from micomsoft
1)XRGB-mini is in the final phase of development. The final prototype is manufactured at the factory now. The firmware is debugged now.
2)they also annonced a new product, it is a capture card for the game users. DVI digital, analog RGB, and HD component input.
In addition, they are working on a C-SYNC separation unit. If the C-SYNC separation unit is used, capture from RGB21pin(JP)is possible (SuperFamicom(SNES, PS1/PS2、MegaDrive、Sega Saturn...)
It is possible to use it also for a part of arcade game PCB.
3) finally, xrgb-3 special firmware (2.21aj) will not be released in english for while (maybe never but I will still ask for it)
thats all

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Interesting times ahead for sure, the c-sync separator looks interesting, wonder if that will cure problems with screen blanking using composite video for sync on the XRGB3.
Also, wonder if their capture card will have real-time display, so that you could use it to rotate the output from arcade boards, like the Holo3D can?

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Will especially be interesting to see how good the 240p capture quality end up. With their XRGB-3 screen capture tool they've set the bar rather high and I'm not sure they can fullfill the expections into a 240p video capture device the same way.

Any more news on this?
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Not the XRGB-mini, but Micomsoft has their capture card/XSYNC-1 product page up:
http://www.micomsoft.co.jp/sc-500n1.htm
http://micomsoft.co.jp/shop/sc-500n1.html
I would be fun to try out the XSYNC-1 with the XRGB-3 to see what it does! From the shop page, it looks like these are sold as one offs to customers.

Final board design is done.
They compare Frame Meister as "Coffee from selected beans"
whereas XRGB-3 is "Coffee from cultivated beans". Whatever that means.
In any case, supposed to be less latency and better quality than XRGB-3.
There's also a mention that they're considering supporting 21 pin RGB
for older consoles and PCBs.

now it's correct. In any case, supposed to be less latency and better quality than XRGB-3 in B0.
Very much looking forward to the new hardware. If the design is still based on a Marvell processor then it shouldn't be too hard to create some good 480i performance.
The Mini Din-8 on front better be a RGB input.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
What product are you talking about? The black micomsoft thing with the female scart or the PC board?
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
neither nor. The thing with the female scart is a J-scart switch box and the PC board is a capture card.
I was talking about the new XRGB-mini.

Re: XRGB-mini FLAME MEISTER G2 (new scaler)
Wasn't it supposed to have VGA in? I guess the 8-pin mini DIN could be used for this as well?
I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this product. I hope that it running the XRGB-3 through it will be a good solution for TV's that doesn't support the XRGB-3's B1 mode or have VGA input.
EDIT: Is that a Micro SD slot in the top right?
