No love for Brave Blade?

Post by Nemo »

Does this game suck or something? It seems like it never gets talked about much, and I don't know much about it personally besides a few screenshots and random thoughts, but being Raizing's last game it seems like it would be more popular.

Boring and un-inspired. I bought it and sold it the same day after 2 hours of playing. Score system is nice, though.

Played it in mame very briefly, thought is was ok but haven't really spent any time with it.

I've never gotten it to work in MAME.

It doesn't run very well in mame yet (it's waaaay better than it was a few versions ago though)... the sound in particular is still really messed up. I think it's a decently fun game though. I'm a sucker for fantasy themed shmups though, so that shouldn't surprise anyone. Not Raizing/Eighting's best work by any means, but I think it's fun nonetheless.

Solid game, though I suppose you could say it's uninspired. The form changing idea is a nice alternative to your standard smart bomb. Oh yeah, it works relatively well in Mame now. Granted, I'm running a 2.8Ghz.....sound still skips sometimes though, especially during voice.

Aside from the sound, is the gameplay semi-intact? Or is there Cotton-esque uber-slowdown?

For me (1.8 gig processor, 256mb ram) I get a lot of slowdown, but it's improved from the "uber-slowdown" I got a few versions ago.
