You should ask this question in the Hardware section. I'm sure fellow shmupper jonny5 can answer your question about it. IMO, a steering wheel & 2-speed shifter + gas & brake pedal combo delivers the goods in terms of realism compared to just using an arcade joystick setup. Some arcade racing games such as the Konami "Drivin' Force" Jamma PCB requires such a dedicated setup to do well or even place in the top ten rankings.

I'm pretty sure it does work with a stick, as I had to ask the same question once.

PC Engine Fan X is right though - check with jonny5. He da man for overhead racers.

you rang? 8)

it does indeed 8)

it seems a fairly common feature....great 1000 mile rally is the same....

both have a connector for the steering/pedals and its selectable via dipswitches....otherwise its 2 way joystick and buttons

just looked at my manual and its actually got 3 settings:

DIP SW 2

joystick=s4+s5 off
270degree wheel(potentiometer)=s4 off s5 on
360degree wheel(optical sensor)=s4 on s5 on

so they actually accounted for a few different setups...

excellent game, and considering how cheap it is, a great addition to any collection!

couple other things to be aware of....

it seems common on this particular PCB that the video ground(pin14) isnt actually tied into the connector, so if your cab/supergun doesnt have video ground tied into jamma ground, you will have a scrambled picture

easily solved...if you get a scrambled picture, either on your jamma connector or the actual PCB jamma header, tie the video ground(pin14) into the jamma ground(pin1,2,a,b), and it will be fine....ie.)solder a wire from pin 14 to the jamma ground

also be aware this game has a suicide battery, meaning it can die...they can be resurrected though so dont let that worry you too much....but the way to tell if the game has suicided is at the ram/rom check on startup you will get a 'co-processor error' and the game will crash shortly after starting.....

i can put up a scan of the manual if anybody wants to see it

i gotta say though, this game is worth it just for the night stages...so awesome!!!

you shouldnt have to pay more than $50 for it(probably more like $30 tbh), but make sure it is working prior to buying it, just need to see the startup...if it shows an error, no good
